If I could give negative stars I would. I’ve been a member for a year, previously taken a class with Tommy which I really enjoyed. I recently signed up for a class which needed changed. My interactions with staff was nothing but a headache. Beginning with Tevin, which told me he would return my call to address my request and never did, to then getting my car towed while I waited for the Morean Arts to open to address my request in person and being refused because I ended up going to their next door establishment, while I waited to address my class. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t like to waste my time so I chose to maximize my time while I waited not thinking it would be an issue since the Morean arts would open at 10am. My car was towed at 9:40am and when I reached out for assistance with towing being a member and being there to address my class, I was denied simply because I was there before hours and decided to wait at their next door establishment which seems ridiculous. I spoke Paula Parrish, Kim Nicotera, and Howayda Affan. After much back and forth, and reaching out to Howayda, she was told differently from the people I had previous contacted and that had told me something else. Whether it was to avoid refunding me or just denying my request, they refused to acknowledge that I was waiting at their next door establishment BECAUSE they weren’t opened yet. It’s disappointing to have had a negative experience when this place was recommended by someone else. They do not deserve anyone’s business when staff is so dismissive and...
Read moreMy husband and I booked tickets on December 16 for a clay class. The receipt we received had no address on it, so we googled which brought us to the Central Street location. After this I contacted the center hula read me that “most people verify the address before showing up“ but the technology we have on our phones, I figured simply typing the center would bring me to where I need to be. There was also no specific address on the tickets I received. The company did accommodate us and offer us a day on the 15th however my husband received his Covid results the day of the 15th so we did not have time in the 24 hour span to let the facility know that we could not show up at this point we both need to quarantine for two weeks I had spoken with the company and they are on able to work with us. I feel that the proof of a positive test, And the times we are dealing with, they should be taken with compassion and flexibility outside of protocol. It is very disappointing because with the stressful year we all had compassion would’ve went a long way luckily Saint Pete is filled with other art classes but I do not suggest giving business to such a strict environment who is supposed to be based on teaching creative mediums in...
Read moreIf you are spending at least 2 days in St. Petersburg, I highly recommend that you: tour the Chihuly Collection on Central Ave. The ticket also gives you an entrance to watch a glass blowing demonstration at Morean Arts Center located across the street. While waiting for the demonstration to begin, you can view local Artists displaying their creations inside the Art Center. Walk around the exterior of the building to enter the Glass Studio to get to the demonstration. Enter through the Sales Shop where you can purchase glass objects hand blown by a variety of Glass Blowing Artists. The Blowing demonstration is pretty awesome to watch if you've never seen glass being blown and transformed into an object. The demo lasts about 1 hour. However, to increase your exposure to Glass Blowing, book a personal one on one Glass Blowing Class! I added Glass Blowing to my bucket list and took a Class. Don't worry if you have no experience, I did not. The instructor will guide you through the entire process. I created a green and blue swirl sculpture. The Class is about 30 minutes. The reason for the 2 day visit, your creation needs time to cool down for at least 24 hours. They can ship it to you if your visit is less than 1 day...
