I visited this restaurant based on its top ratings, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. From the moment we arrived, I didn’t feel particularly welcomed. Although we were received promptly, we were informed that the wait time would be 15 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for the food to be served. I was fine with the wait, but the staff member who relayed this information seemed visibly frustrated when I mentioned that we planned to dine in.
As someone who doesn't drink wine, I wanted to clarify whether the base sauce contained any wine. However, when I asked, the response I received made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome; the staff member seemed agitated by my simple question. At that point, I decided it was best to leave.
While I won’t make any assumptions about the underlying reasons for the poor service, I do want to emphasize that restaurant businesses should always remember they are in the hospitality industry. Making customers feel welcome is just as important as serving good food. I’m sure the food is excellent based on the reviews, but sadly, I didn’t stay long enough...
Read moreMy absolute lucky culinary highlight during my visit in Tallinn. I passed the shop more or less by accident, and got curious looking inside the small windows. This small Italian place is in the old city of Tallinn, a bit away from the busy streets, and has only a few tables to offer. Without reservation you might not find a table - so better call beforehand - especially on the weekends. The pasta served looked amazing on all tables, and also the one I had, tagliatelle with venison, was absolutely spectacular. The service is really friendly, prices are fair, and please do me the favor and have a look at the special menu on the board - it has some special offers - like pasta with venison. But also the standard menu was interesting, and of which probably the amatriciana would have been my choice. Sensational really - and I’m talking about the...
Read moreDelicia is a genuine Italian restaurant! The food is really good. The restaurant prepared a delicious pasta dish for a child, even though there were no specific kids' meals listed on the menu. The adults enjoyed truffle ravioli, melanzane, and four-cheese pasta. All the dishes received praise for their flavor, and the portion sizes were just right. The dining area is fairly small, and especially during hot weather, the restaurant becomes uncomfortably warm—like many places in the old town. The service was friendly, but one improvement would be for the waitstaff to take drink orders right at the beginning, so you wouldn’t have to ask for water separately after quite...
