The tasty waffle-based menu is such a blessing for the taste buds, just to be able to feast from a yummy waffle based menu is heaven.

I would call it Waffle Fine Dining, it's so absolutely incredible perfectly delicious (even if I needed much more salt on the salmon.)

Table reservations are recommended on weekends but the super duper nice staff smoothly fixed me a seat anyway as when I went there on a full booked Saturday, so I felt very welcome instead of thinking I was bothering the staff.🙏🏻

QR code ordering is a no-brainer but I needed help as I couldn't find Black Coffee from the menu. I learned it's called Americano, very good black coffee if you like it simply black, without milk.

I highly recommend Kohvik Vaffel for everyone, even if you don't have any gluten intolerance problems, it's a totally must to go there for indulgence reasons only.

The payment alternatives are Google Pay for the QR order or order via QR and pay contactless with card at the checkout.

Kohvik Vaffel is open already 9am on Saturdays and if weather is fine there are also temporary tables and chairs placed outside, on the sidewalk.

I also learned why the coffee always comes separately, immediately when ordering, instead of being served together, with the order.

According to Estonian culture, the idea is to have something to sip on while you wait.

As I was only used to the coffee-together-with-the-order system, I was confused - the coffee is getting cold and no order in sight!?

But now that I know, of course I want it served according to their own culture. I like to adapt to their traditions and I'm happy the super duper nice staff explained it to me as I was really wondering!

Now I can sip and fully enjoy my coffe while waiting, without being confused. Lesson learned!🤗☕

Though a little off the beaten path of the average tourist, Kohvik Vaffel is well worth the few extra steps it takes to get there. A Mom & Pop business, the owners are running the cash register and making your vaffles to order. The one working the cash register spoke to me about their story of why they chose to open their cafe as well as a good amount of modern cultural background in the food and tech industry in Tallinn.

On to the food... My buddy and I ordered a full fried chicken waffle + a half raspberry pistachio waffle. We each had a smoothie and coffee.

The waffles were crisp and flavorful, maintaining good structure even though there was plenty of sauce that could have made them soggy. Their batter recipe is quite tasty. The toppings were well-prepared, tasted high quality and were presented with both care and skill. The chicken breading was delicious!

The smoothies were freshly made and refreshing. Nothing particularly exceptional but still certainly worth ordering if you're a smoothie fan.

The coffee was absolutely fantastic. Best cup I had while in Tallinn (admittedly I didn't go on a big coffee hunt while there) but I overheard the beans are sourced from a local roaster and after the first sip, the quality was clear. Wow!

On October 1st, I went to kohvik called "Vaffel" and placed an order for the main course of Crispy Chicken Vaffel and the dessert of Chocolate and Blackcurrant Vaffel. Waffles as savory meal may not seem like a good idea at first, but as soon as I took a mouthful, the flavor and texture completely won me over. Every single bite was a gift from the gods, and when the plate was empty, I was saddened yet still incredibly full and filled with positive emotions. When desert waffles were brought out, my experience continued—and, dare I say, improved. I've never had finer sweet waffles than the dessert waffles I just consumed at "Vaffel".
