Patkuli viewing platform — Attraction in Tallinn

It has many stairs to climb in a spiral direction with a very narrow inside edge and wider outer edge. There is only one way up, and one way down so you must flatten yourself along the edge, or nearly kill yourself trying to stand on an extremely narrow inside edge as no one wants to maneuver on the narrow side coming up or down. The steps are very old and they certainly did not have a uniformity of measurement to the height of each step. Some are short but many are pretty steep steps (good luck all of you short legged people). If you are not in good physical condition you will feel a burning sensation in your legs as you climb what feels like the "stairway to heaven" as it never seems to end. But alas you will eventually reach the top where you will be given a breath taking view of Tallinn 360°. Great photography location from such a height. And worth all the troubles. For all you tall people, watch your head, be sure to duck as people in olden days appear to only have been three feet tall. I whacked my head and then stumbled into a chair in the shop, if only there were a balcony near by I could have fallen off of to make for quite the comedy show. Still very much worth the concussion and broken toe. (Okay well maybe just a bump on the head and sore toe.) But that was my own fault for being clumsy, just a warning......
