I was recommended to come to a Mama's Pizza by a Fijian friend of mine because supposedly the pizzas are meant to be different from the ones in Australia. I don't know whether it's this specific store or not, but the pizzas weren't too different from what I was used to. I ordered the Big Bird and the Mama's Special. The Big Bird wasn't too bad. It didn't have actual chicken, but chicken luncheon meat instead, which I was fine with. The saltiness of the luncheon meat was actually the only flavourful thing. I couldn't taste any tomato sauce and if there were supposed to be pineapple on it, the pieces were so small that you could hardly taste anything. Now, I did opt-out of any chilli so whether or not that had impacted on the flavour, I don't know. The Mama's Special was like a Supreme pizza back in Aus. It had lots of toppings, and was probably the more flavourful of the two. The pepperoni was a bit spicy, but that gave it a nice kick. Both pizzas did have really crispy bases, which was nice. Overall, I am a bit disappointed, but if I was to ever come back to Fiji, I would probably give it a second chance at a...
Read moreOrdered food and drinks, paid for them and sat down at the table. We were 1 of the 2 families dining in that afternoon. Fresh plates and cutlery were put on the table.... Our drinks didn't arrive and neither did any glasses. Had to go to the counter to request a jug of water and collect 4 glasses after several minutes. Glasses and the drink were given but they forgot about the jug of water which was given when we were almost half way through our meals. The pizza when made was sitting on the kitchen counter for about 6 minutes before it came to the table. There were a few staff who were working at the time but were not serving or doing anything. The atmosphere was good initially with music playing at reasonable levels but when we were the only ones there the staff cranked up the volume and started singing and dancing, with one mopping the floor...
Read moreI ordered the garlic pizza, small tandoori chicken pizza and the the works in family size. The pizzas tasted fine but they weren't worth it for the price. The base was a bit mushy and they should probably be baked for a bit longer. Service was extremely slow - I was in the queue for basically 20 minutes to place my order and my friends and I were eating in. The restaurant really needs a facelift on the interior and an air conditioning system and probably more than one till or even online ordering for efficiency. Water for the table should also be offered to patrons. Garlic bread is more like a garlic bun should really be a loaf or the price decreased. Not the best I've had either. Had a half Nadi Special and half Big Bird (I like that this is possible). Other than this, the location is great. Outdoor seating or takeaway is...
