Last week, I stopped by to get an Americano to go. The girl at the counter immediately suggested adding a second shot. I declined because I just wanted a regular Americano. Besides, the coffee already cost €4.50, which isn’t exactly cheap, and I didn’t want to pay extra for another shot, naively assuming that an Americano would be flavorful and strong enough on its own.
To my surprise, the coffee was very diluted and not strong at all—it clearly needed a second shot, which would have raised the price to around €6.
So, here’s my question: Is it just me, and am I missing something, or should a €4.50 coffee be of decent quality on its own?

It would be great, if you’re interested, to ask your employee why they say this to customers (we visited your café last Saturday, March 22). For now, I don’t feel like coming back. Wishing you...
