The most strangest service I've encountered in my life.
Firstly, thank you for receiving our group of friends and making our special birthday event possible. The place wine bar has a nice setting and offers an interesting selection of wines.
I'm writing this to give a little feedback on the service of the Sete wine bar, which operates far in at Tenho. The service I encountered with my group of friends was the strangest I may have ever encountered. A series of maybe a bit lazy and forceful comments mixed with poor organising skills.
The night begun with a peculiar approach from the sommelier telling our group that we want a wine that is quite easy since we don't know anything of your selection. Peculiar thing to say to start our special celebratory evening. Followed with a chaotic service forcing our guests basically doing the serving, choosing who wants what, instead of simply going around the table taking orders and suggesting something. Paying for a service at a bar I'm hoping to not feel like I'm working there.
This was proceeded with rather forceful tasting, insisting on finishing our glasses because the sommelier wanted to pour something else, giving strange orders that I've never encounter in any kind of bar/restaurant. Strange. :-) Before I managed to let the waiter know how strangely things were going, we had spent most of our time listening to their stories on Italy (sharing this was likely more important to the sommelier than to us, although it sounded great) preventing us from socializing with our friends, which naturally ofcourse is the reason why we wanted to go to your bar. Socialize with friends and have good wine. If this wasn't enough, my reservation was for 15+ people and it seemed to consern the sommelier that there wouldn't be room for customers outside of our group (which there was), somehow excluding the idea that our group is full of paying customers. I guess as a bar manager that should be considered great and what a bar wants. Lots of customers and a good time.
All in all, we had a good night but the service could seriously do a lot of...
Read moreA feel good restaurant / bar / nightclub which has remarkably good menu. Customers are young adults from which vast majority share characteristics of gentrification generation.
This place is amazing. It's one of the greatest food and event venues where I've visited. Prices are a tad high for me personally but I still strongly recommend to visit here. If you happen to visit here during weekend evening there's a free guarded cloakroom by the entrance too which is superb to be honest.
Table reservations are recommended here during evening since this place might get quite packed at late afternoon. This is the time when this venue gets a tad too noisy for me personally. Worth noticing is the fact that they don't accept reservations via phone when there's a program or special event during night. Just use their webpage for reservations. Facebook and webpage are best places to check if there's an ongoing happenings at this venue. There's really a lot things going on here.
All in all this place is grand among all the places in Helsinki. However it's also quite selective because prices are higher than average. I still strongly recommend to visit here if you're looking for feel good vibes...
Read moreAwesome place! We were there because we had seen a Jazz concert announced for this Sunday night. When we arrived at half past eight, nearly all tables were occupied. Fortunately there was a small one left for us. The band was already playing good music. Nice mixture of people, happy crowd. A really great atmosphere. We enjoyed good beer and wine. The salmon pizza was fine and also the salmon and beetroot salad. This is not a gourmet place, but offering decent and delicious food. The staff was friendly. It seemed to me that there were too few workers for so many guests. But they served the queue at the bar effectively and cleaned up desks in between. The food was brought to the tables timely and correctly.
We will come...
