Furunäs — Restaurant in Porvoo sub-region

A wonderful summer terrace restaurant with a fantastic view over old Porvoo. The location high on the hill of Näsinmäki is a perfect place to enjoy, for example, something savoury and have refreshing drink or a cold beer when admiring the scenery. The personnel welcomed us very warmly and the service was friendly throughout the visit. The menu was short and simple but there was something for everybody, also for veggies; starters, salads, burgers, main dishes and desserts. We tasted the panzanella salad and crispy chicken burger. Both were delicious. There was real burrata, roasted mini tomatoes, a good vinegar-oil dressing and crunchy bread bites in the panzanella salad, among others. The burger had a succulent chicken filee, wonderfully tangy pickled vegetables and delicious mayo. The terrace was cosy with flowers and there was a sunshade fabric over part of the terrace. There were also a few tables on the open veranda under the roof. There is a bar counter on the other end of the terrace in a separate small kiosk where you can buy drinks. This is in use especially in the busy evenings and weekends. One star was dropped because we smelled tobacco smoke on the terrace when we were eating. Two people were smoking there by the kiosk. As far as we could see the place is a non-smoking place since there were no ashtrays. Maybe it was only an isolated incident and it will not happen again. Palautteeni perustuu ainoastaan käyntiimme tänään Smakuilun merkeissä. Honkalan lounasta on kehuttu joten odotukset olivat korkealla. Maisemat ja terassi olivat kipuamisen arvoisia. Henkilökunta kertoi, että Smaku -annoksia oli jäljellä kaksi joten otimme ne vaikka seurueessamme oli neljä henkeä. Ruokiajuomia ei edes ehdotettu joten kysyimme niistä itse. Henkilökunta kertoi, että viinejä he eivät tänään tarjoile mutta muuta juomaa on saatavilla. Kysyttyäni asiasta minulle kerrottiin, että salihenkilökunta on sairaslomalla ja hän itse on keittiöstä ja he ovat päättäneet, etteivät tarjoile viinejä. Erikoista.
