Based on a recommondation we spontaniously went to Niro for dinner. Driving in from Marseille we showed up at Niro close to 10pm. A quick check of the staff with the kitchen asking if they still would offer us food (we were asking for the suprise menu which cost 55 €) was no problem and we got seated at a beautiful table outside. We were welcomed very warm by the service staff. Camine (please feel free to correct the name :)) who gave us service this evening was very positiv an happy to explain us the menu and the wine list. Their wine list is superb with a lot of wines from the region (plus organic). The wine Camine recommended us for our dinner was an excellent choice of her and we were really happy with it. The wine was super good and fit perfectly with our dinner. Camine is very ambitioned and knowledged in wine and food and told us everything we wanted to know about the wine. Thank you! So, we orderd the suprise menu and we were blown away by it. It was so delicious and tasty. A real explosion of flavors and a magnificent combination of french and arabic flavors transported onto a plate. Every single bite was pure pleasure. What Chef Philippe Sublet and his kitchen crew with their concept in mind (Brasserie meets Street Food) created is phenomenal. The taste of the food was so dynamic and exciting, packed with new uknown flavors but also familiar flavors you know from french Bistrot food. The dishes were cooked to perfection and the plating was creativ and pretty. Thank you Chef Philippe and your crew for the fantastic evening. We didnt miss anything and felt very welcomed at your Bistrot/Brasserie. Next time we are in Aix en Provence we definitely are coming back to Niro! Our taste buds can`t wait either :)). Our host at the BnB recommended this place for dinner on our first night of visiting. We couldn't get a reservation then, but we got one for the next night. So glad that we did. They offered two menus - a set menu or a la carte. We would have gone with the set, but we wanted to try dishes that were on the a la carte menu as well as saving our calories on the dessert. The prices were very reasonable for the quality! For starters, we had the medallions foie gras and oeuf parfait bio. Foie gras was perfect, but it was exactly what you’d expect. Oeuf was AMAZING and unexpected. The chef was a genius for creating this dish. For our mains, we shared the salmon and lamb. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, but I did enjoy the lamb slightly more! The overall experience was outstanding. An English menu was offered to us, and the staff was friendly and attentive.

A place to enjoy an evening in the heart of Provence :) A traditional small menu offers a few options that will definitely impress you with high quality and exceptional taste. Presentation of dishes is also amazing. The wine card includes local wines of different types and good positions from other regions. The waiters are very nice a friendly. The only disappointment was extremely long waiting and quite a noisy hall - tables are very close to each other.. But it’s definitely worth visiting.

This restaurant offers you such a supreme gastronomic experience. The sweet welcome of Madeleine notices you are starting a nice travel to the french flavours but without moving your table. Madeleine brought a tasteful oil olives for the beginning, I am fond of oil olives and this little food gave me one of the times I’ve most enjoyed this mediterranean jewel. Later when we were already enjoying a fruited white ‘vin’ from Aix en Provence, she surprised us with a free cute delicatessen: a tasted cream of zucchini and carrot that assured us we had been really lucky choosing this place. The plates were amazing. My boyfriend and me chose an entreé for sharing, a delightful ‘Crumble de légumes, tomates confites & crème de cabécou’. More than enough for both and so tasty! Ah yes! Also you are going to have pleasure with a very nice decorated plates. The presentation is very useful when Madeleine explains you what every little sauce or cream is about it. Suddenly, you have minimum five exotic french flavours to be tasted in just a single plate! And all of them were execellent. For a main plate my boyfriend aked for a ‘- Pièce de Bœuf, cranberries, noisettes & sarriette’. He liked it too. But if you are a fun of undercooked and raw meat like me, the plate I asked for is your next gastronomic must. Don’t hesitate it and ask for a superb ‘- Notre tartare de bœuf charolais coupé au couteau, tomates confites, copeaux de foie gras, huiles de truffes & pépin de raisin’. The little foie strips covering the meat were the best company for a such mouth-watering marinated meat. I couldn’t finish completely the meat. The plate was so tasty and all the side dishes were dainty also, but too food for my weak stomach that night. My boyfriend convenced me we should taste at least one of the desserts and we ordered for a handmade tiramisú which gave us a sweet end for a romantic and french dinner. A lovely meal where my partner took care I had a nice time all the time. Even in the beginnig, I was enjoying so much the olives when Madeleine arrived with the apperitve and she took away them from the table. I got a bit disappointed for no option to finish them and my boyfriend surprised me when he asked Madaleine if she would be so nice to bring them back again. Hahaha it is very cute, isn’t it? He was perfect company for such luscious dinner. And you know.. we are not wealthy people right now, but we knew we wanted to taste french cuisine at least once during our holidays in Aix in Provence! So we were cooking and not wasting too much. That’s why we actually had better time as a result we had done our little effort to achieve the goal! Hope you can visit Gambetta restaurant some day and...

(ENG) Go there with your eyes closed. sweet and salty flavor, one of the best...
