Unfortunately, whether the food was good was completely overshadowed by the fact that the front of house (likely Owner/Chef--not sure) got into a fight with a neighbor family during the dinner service. As all the outside seating is in front of the restaurant, the incident played out front and center to our dinner. The man (who had greeted us nicely at first, but also lounged casually in the extra chairs looking at his phone most of the time) approached the family as they were discretely going into the the door next to the restaurant. It was clear there was tension immediately and heated words were exchanged. At one point the family tried to go inside the building and the man was physically pushing himself into the building. A passing pedestrian had to interject to pull him out of the building. The police were called and as the family was inside, the man from the restaurant sent them away. Some of the family came out again and the man began to speak with them in a heated manner for the entire remainder of our dinner. We did not order coffee or dessert, as you might imagine, and opted for a calmer environment. Ironically, the website lists "Professional Service" as one of...
Read moreWe had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. After being seated, we were told by our server to wait for him to come back and explain the menu to us. This took 15 minutes, and eventually, a lady server came by, only to read dishes off the menu board. They made it seem like it was essential for the original server to explain, which was unnecessary.
The service was super snobbish throughout our visit. When our food arrived, it was plated with lots of veggies and unnecessary items to make it look like a hearty portion, but it wasn't.
Halfway through eating, we found a strand of long hair in the salad and informed the server. He didn’t even apologize, just took the dish and left without saying anything. We were left wondering if a replacement would be provided. Eventually, the lady server brought us the dish, again without any apology.
It seems like it's normal for guests to experience this, given the indifferent attitude we encountered. For an expensive dinner that cost us 120 euros for three mains and a starter, the food was underwhelming and the service was unacceptable. Would not recommend at all. You’re better off spending your money elsewhere with better...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant in the charming alleys of Aix en Provence. We were blown away by the quality of the food served. We had the Artichokes with lemon and vinegar, and the Chicken stew and the Lamb Shank (cooked for hours 😋). It was by far the best chicken stew we’ve ever had. Every morsel of chicken thigh was lovingly seared and enrobed with the simplest yet most velvety of gravies that the chef clearly put his heart into creating. The lamb shank was fall off the bone delicious yet tasty and flavourful. The mains were artfully played with fresh and cooked vegetables on a bed of mashed potato. Dessert was well torched and caramelised creme brûlée which had a snap crack when tapped with a spoon. We were so happy to end off our meal with such a delicious Provençal meal for our last night in Aix en Provence. The restaurant far deserves a 5 and not...
