Cool restaurant, we’ve been there without reservation but a table was soon available being Monday, we ordered two coffees, bun Benedict trout and the pulled pork roll. Coffee was very good 8*,perfect temperature and tasty. The meals were brought soon after coffee, the bun Benny trout was ok, we would have loved the egg softer it was actually soft boiled so the red core was not runny at all. 6* but maybe that’s the way the dish is. The pulled pork roll was excellent, 10* I could not taste of the fat at all and I was happily surprised, the taste and the combination of the ingredients also really spot on, I’ll be back for that. Then we ordered the vegan banana pancakes 9*, as well very good, the portion was perfect size, the sauce enough to dip in the whole dish, I could definitely taste the bananas inside the dough and also the pecans were abundant. The bill was correct too.

😐If I could point out a few things (as constructive criticisms) I felt the staff was professional but a few more smiles while working would make the atmosfere nicer for everyone. 🐕 Beside us a table with a dog was offered water for him and that’s was very nice, but please staff if you decide to Cuddle pets then go straight to wash your hands…

Overall...

Probably the only brunch place at Annecy, which explains the high ratings. Very busy place - be prepared to wait around 20-30 minutes for a table.

I ordered eggs and built my own plate. The hash brown is actually potato rosti style. The scrambled eggs were a little dry. The mushrooms, and the entire plate in general, could use a little salt. I found a hair in my plate but the staff was kind enough to change the plate for me, though they don’t seem happy that I pointed this out.

The soup and grilled cheese was okay, although I’d prefer a crispier grilled cheese with more cheese than béchamel sauce. The French toast was fluffy, with home made cream and grapefruit. I really like the brioche! As for drinks, I had better coffee elsewhere at Annecy.

The service: I felt that the staff was not happy after I pointed out about the hair. The table beside me changed her plate three times but each time the staff was friendly and apologised for the inconvenience. However, when I pointed out there was hair in my plate, they seemed upset with us (??) It’s really strange how the behaviour towards my partner and I is different. Especially when it is just basic expectations to not want to eat other...

Slake in Annecy is a lovely spot, especially if you’re looking for a good breakfast. We went on a busy morning and had to wait a bit before entering, but it was worth it. The cozy, laid-back atmosphere inside is perfect for a relaxed start to the day. The food was excellent—everything was fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful. I had their avocado toast, which was delicious, and my friend opted for a breakfast bowl that was both healthy and tasty.

The menu offers a nice variety of breakfast options, from pastries to more filling dishes, catering to different preferences. The coffee was also top-notch, which was a great complement to the meal.

While the wait to get in was a little longer than we had hoped, the service once inside was friendly and efficient. The staff did a great job of making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Prices were reasonable, especially given the quality of the food and the overall experience.

If you’re in Annecy and looking for a great breakfast spot, Slake is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait if you go...

Great brunch place with a good selection of both sweet and savoury dishes to choose from. We had the salmon pancakes as well as the bun with halloumi and fried beetroot, both of which were great. The coffee is also nice and reasonably priced. Staff were responsive and friendly, and spoke both French and English. The ambience was cozy and comfortable. Note that the queue can be quite long, especially on weekends. There’s a QR code near the door to scan, which will lead you to a site where you can join the queue. To avoid waiting too long, try to go early or on weekdays (but it is well worth the wait).
