La Brasserie les Arts — Restaurant in Avignon

Great choice for hungry tourists... Around 3pm we struggled to find any restaurant with an open kitchen in the rest of town as everyone keeps to an arbitrary lunch break and were happy to find the les Arts. Their 15,50 € Formule Express menu with a tasty pizza (otherwise 13€), salad and coffee included and complimentary chilled water was brought to our table ahead of ordering. My daughter enjoyed their 6€ kids meal with a ice cream dessert (that alone would've cost 3€ at the ice cream parlor around the corner).

P.S. I posted this 5-star review while I was happy, full and waiting for the bill. On presentation of the bill I realized, that I left my cash and cards in the car and was only able to pay by tap, which their machine didn't support. It was completely my fault, but the amazing service lady found a solution while I unsuccessfully walked to the ATM and managed to organize the neighbouring restaurants card machine and I was able to tap, but forgot to tip her in the hurry. I also forgot to ask her for her name, but Table 72 served by "Vendeur 4" will...

Came in as a group of 8, they brought meals for 7 people and let our 8th person wait for another 20 minutes. When we asked one of the employees about it, they didn’t even stop properly to listen to us and eventually just left without saying anything. The second employee we talked to eventually sorted that out. Two people from our group got their meal without the sauce that was supposed to be included, which got sorted out in the end. Half of the group also didn’t get their ordered drinks and had to ask for it again. The employees were constantly in a hurry, looked annoyed and very impatient when we were making the orders. The meal was kinda bland and none of us actually finished our food....

Gnocchis were inedible but the rest of the meal was fine. The waiter spilled a full glass of wine on my husband's white shirt at the end of the meal. He was very disdainful, expecting us to simply accept his apology, and telling us we that we needed to be put back to our places because we wanted to have the shirt cleaned. Happily ,the boss was around, we were able to discuss the situation without getting insulted, he was understanding and fair, and he offered a decent settlement. Everything turned out...
