Le Goeland — Restaurant in Avignon

Hygiene is not acceptable. I should have walked away when I saw the girl scooping my ice cream pick some food out of her teeth and then go right back to scooping ice cream without washing her hands, but I said, “Oh well, maybe that’s normal in France.” I got two scoops to go (peanut “sundae” and pistachio) and, back in my hotel room, when I got to almost the bottom of the cup I found a five-centimeter blonde hair in the bottom of the cup - look at the circled area in the photo I’ve attached. Since I have very long black hair I’m confident it wasn’t mine. I can’t recommend this shop, and I hope they review their hygiene standards in both production...

Very disappointing experience. The coffee was extremely underwhelming. The crêpes were unusually thick and quite soggy, and the caramel sauce tasted artificial and unpleasant. The espresso was burnt, likely due to the machine being set far too hot. When I politely raised the issue, the staff responded rudely, simply stating that the coffee is supposed to taste like that. No replacement or alternative was offered. I will definitely not be...

We had not realised that you weren't allowed to eat the food purchased from the ice cream counter at the tables. We were quite rudely asked to move on mid way through our sandwiches. They could have just let us stay there as other tables were free. By the looks of the reviews they have a rude staff problem. Plenty of other places to spend your money if not, they don't...
