A Culinary Love Affair in Avignon!
If heaven had a kitchen, it would be Ma Belle Cuisine! This place has stolen my heart (and my taste buds), and I would gladly move to Avignon just to eat here monthly. Seriously, if this restaurant were anywhere near my home, they’d know me by name—and probably start reserving my favorite table in advance!
Let’s talk about the food. I had the duck with porcini mushrooms, and let me tell you, it was divine. As a die-hard duck lover, I’ve been tragically deprived of it in Belgium, where it’s barely ever on the menu. But here? Here, I found perfection. The texture, the flavor, the sheer joy it brought me—this is one of the best things I have ever eaten in a restaurant. I was practically singing its praises at the table!
My husband had the garlic and parsley prawns, and he was just as enchanted. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked—he was in seafood heaven. And then came dessert… oh, the desserts. We had the chocolate tart and the chocolate mousse, both of which were absolute bliss. If chocolate dreams exist, they taste like this.
This is the kind of restaurant you can recommend to everyone—family, friends, colleagues—without hesitation. I would bring my entire social circle here if I could! Ma Belle Cuisine isn’t just a meal; it’s an experience, a celebration of food, and a place I’ll be raving about for years.

Read moreThe food was Ok, prices were fine, portion sizes just great. However the problem was we never felt welcomed at all. This is our first visit to Avignon but we've been to France many times. We can not communicate in French and they didn't do much better in English, and that was fine. I can never remember such disinterest in all the months I have spent in France over the years.
One thing however I can do is point. The young woman wasn't so bad and eventually became our primary server. The little older woman was horrid. I "clearly" pointed to a 50cl red and the younger woman brought out a bottle of Rose. When she tried to fix it they were out of that red and did bring us a bottle of something comparable and that was fine. The place had just opened up and I think we were the only table who had to ask for bread and maybe I'm wrong.
We went ahead and both got the Spaghetti Bolognese because we could clearly understand what we were getting. At that point in time we were only interested in finishing our wine and getting out of their as quickly as possible. In all the time we've spent in France I can say this is the first time we ever really felt unwelcomed. Very disappointed because the reviews looked so good. Fellow travelers leave this one...
Read moreOur experience with the waitstaff was deeply unsatisfactory, primarily due to their unprofessionalism regarding seating. Despite our request for an outdoor table, we were told none were available, even as other patrons were clearly departing—a fact we pointed out, stating we were willing to wait. Our willingness to then accept an indoor table was met with the baffling claim that no indoor seating was available either. This entire exchange was not only comical in its absurdity but also struck us as potentially discriminatory.
To spare yourself wasted time and a ruined day, I strongly recommend dining elsewhere; superior alternatives abound. The quality of the food, whatever it may be, pales in comparison to such a terrible overall experience. It is imperative that management prioritize and invest in hospitality training for their staff.
In conclusion, I advise you to take your business elsewhere and withhold your support from an establishment that exhibits such horrific attitudes toward...
