Nestled in the heart of the city, this chic yet cozy restaurant offers a small but outstanding menu that perfectly balances complex flavors with simple, fresh ingredients. The french fusion tapas concept is a culinary adventure, with each dish thoughtfully crafted and presented on exquisite stoneware. At L’Alentour the food isn’t just delicious it’s a feast for the eyes!
While the small plates we tried were each exceptional in their own right, the standout dish of the night was a main course of slow cooked Jarret de veau, meat so tender it practically fell apart with a touch. The jus, rich with herbs and subtle spices, added depth without overwhelming the dish. It was the perfect balance of hearty and refined. Their well-curated wine list strikes a balance between variety and affordability, ensuring there's something for everyone.
I really appreciate L'Alentour's efficient online booking system—unlike many restaurants in Beaune, where you leave your number and wait for a callback the next day, only to find out they're fully booked. Here, the process is straightforward and hassle-free, saving you time and frustration. It seems these three partners bring together the best of business acumen, down-to-earth friendliness, and top-quality inventive food - a combination that's hard to beat. Their approach makes for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Read moreNot your typical French restaurant. Oh, yeah, the cooking style and ingredients are definitely French, but the recipes are decidedly original, fusing local and exotic elements. First, this is not the typical entree/plat/dessert formula because the dishes are meant to be shared. The artichoke spread was great on the rustic bread. The croquettes were bursting with umami, and the asparagus was perfectly cooked. The lamb was tender and flavorful in a luscious gravy/sauce, and the desserts were practically inhaled. The menu changes often, so do not expect to see these dishes in your visit (or maybe you will get lucky & see them). We made no wrong choices. Service was attentive but respectful, and the waitress helped make an excellent wine choice. I am guessing, but I think the owners were working the tables and the bar, so expect excellence in all aspects. Would happily return. Reservations recommended - several walk-ups were declined while we were dining and we were not in...
Read moreThis place recently opened in the beautiful town of Beaune and it is fabulous! The ambiance is wonderful, very inviting to sit down for a meal with friends or family. The chairs are very comfortable, which makes it even easier to stay for hours on end. Not that you need another reason besides the food, because it’s delicious. My friends and I tried every item on the menu, which we have been told will change regularly and also includes local and seasonal produce. It was difficult to pick a favorite, but luckily the concept of the dishes is to share, so you can try everything and keep ordering more of your favorites. The options include meat, fish and vegetarian and come with local wine recommendations. I certainly hope they keep the croquettes on the menu forever as I went back twice already to have these! Make sure to save room for dessert though, it’s just as good as any of the other dishes! I will be...
