La Superb — Restaurant in Beaune

This was such a fantastic dining experience and I would highly recommend you don't miss this place. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance and were not disappointed. The best seat in the house was at the counter where we got to witness the chef in action. He is a true master and the technique and flair with which he cooked were so fun to watch. You definitely should make reservations as you don't want to miss this experience. I would try to get a seat where you can watch the chef. The wine list was amazing and the selection of food was perfect. Be ready when you enter the restaurant as you might be treated to an amuse-bouche as we were and it was amazing. It was something like liquid parmesan cheese and just exploded with incredible flavors in your mouth. The lady who I believe was his wife was so helpful in assisting us in selecting our meal along with some wine selections. There was also a younger gentleman who was very attentive and had excellent input on our selections and wine choices as well so the combination was perfect. EDIT FOLLOWING OWNER RESPONSE: downgrading to 1*. Very defensive, insulting a customer who only meant to provide constructive feedback for the restaurant to get better by improving service. And yes, I suspect a machine at McDonald’s would probably provide a better service than this restaurant (even if I don’t eat at McDonald’s…).

Good food, but poor service and unfriendly welcome overall - no smile, no description of dishes (just put in front of you with not a word uttered), no “how was your meal?” at the end. Also, it would be very convenient to write the lunch menu on a blackboard for customers to review (vs. just reading it from scribbled notes).

LaSuperB provided us with an exceptional dining experience. From the ripe cherry tomatoes with burrata basil whipped cream to the delightful salmon with lemon curd, and the heavenly pavlova with raspberry coulis, each dish was a testament to their culinary prowess.
