Le Parisien — Restaurant in Beaune

We had planned to spend a nice evening at „le parisien“ in beaune. However, we were greeted by a waitress who was new to the restaurant and was therefore very chaotic and disorganized. She didn't even know which table number we had and got confused when ordering the menus. That was the problem. She came to us after dinner and asked if we wanted dessert. We then told her that we had already ordered dessert from the menu on offer, but she didn't understand this and ordered dessert separately. We noticed the very high price at the end after we had already paid. We pointed this out to the waitress and later to the chef, but they tried to take us for fools. It turned out over time that there were two menus in circulation and we therefore had to pay different prices. A no-go! This was mainly because the chef did not apologize and acknowledge the mistake. When we showed the chef the mistake with the two different prices on the menu, he himself tried to deceive us and explain that everything was correct and we had to pay the higher prices. Afterwards we got some of the money back that had been overcharged, but the chef slapped the money on the table in a very unfriendly and disrespectful manner. What a shame that we had to experience such a sobering evening in the restaurant...

What a strange place. The experience started out well, a helpful and friendly waiter found us a table outside and we enjoyed pre dinner drinks overlooking the square. We came back a little later for dinner and from there the service went downhill. There seemed to be an awkward and obvious division between staff members. We were told there would be a 20 minute wait for a table inside due to an impending storm, which was fair enough, then we were left standing there. Meanwhile another couple behind us were ushered inside to sit at the bar to wait for their table.

With the help of our original waiter we were able to sit outside to wait and we ordered another drink before being ushered inside. The ponytailed male waiter seemingly in charge of the indoor seating area was clearly not interested in serving some tables and we along with other groups were completely ignored. After a good half hour sitting inside another waiter finally took our food order. The food was ok but the indifferent service inside the restaurant meant we didn’t want to hang around for dessert or more drinks.

There are better places in Beaune, try Le Conty or for a special occasion Le Carmin. For drinks try the super friendly...

(Customer-)service was TERRIBLE !

We were served by a younger waiter with a ponytail, who pointed us to our table, but gave the menu 20 minutes later. Drinks came 15 minutes after that.

The waiter didn’t show up at our table ONCE without us signaling for him to come over.

After he took our plates, we had to wait 30 minutes for him to ask for our desserts.

Ordered the creme brulee which was nice, but my mom didn’t get her coffee she ordered the same time as my dessert.

30 minutes after I finished my dessert, we decided to ask for the bill, still without coffee. THEN the waiter brought over the coffee together with the bill.

Told him we didn’t want the coffee anymore, asked him to take it off the bill. He got mad because we asked him to cancel ONE coffee. Didn’t bother him at all we had to wait 1 hour for one coffee. Super unfriendly and unprofessional waiter!! He was obviously mad since he stared at us and threw some chairs around, when we got up and left.

Never ever...
