Donât be fooled by the crowds drinking on the patio. The food was mediocre by regular standards and horrendously insulting to be situated in a culinary capital like Beaune. The salmon was over cooked (though a hearty sized filet), the chicken supreme âGaston Gerard styleâ was lackluster, and worst of all, the âaccompanimentsâ of potatoes and steamed vegetables served with the meats were essentially cafeteria-style prepared in huge batches and served as a watery mess. The service was slow and we had to ask 3 times for a beer refill. The couple next to us was extremely angry and having a horrible experience where their wine wasnât brought outâŠever, then when they asked them to cancel the wine, it still appeared on their bill. I will say, the waiters were friendly, but if this restaurant wants to survive in Beaune it needs a...
Read moreMust say this was the worst and most embarrassing experience I have ever had (and I am travelling and visiting bars and restaurants quite often). We were four of us and wanted to have a bottle of wine in evening hours. Although I didnât have to but I asked the waiter can we have a drink because I saw 1 free table. He was very rude with elevated voice saying âNo, you cannot. It is just for eating!! Where is politeness? And where is the law saying I cannot have drink but only dinner at the bar and brasserie??? Unbelieve impoliteness and rudeness. It is not my problem that they were very busy, and I was polite enough to ask and not to sit, although we could. Please teach your stuff to behave more polite and how to treat their...

Had to ask 3 times for a bottle of water. Gave us the wrong soft drinks. Did not take any used glasses or bottles from the table despite having no room for food. Waiters kept dropping glasses, one tipped half a glass of water on me. Gave us 4 spoons (one of which had enough jam to service a coissant) no dessert appeared for 30 mins apparently they lost the ticket. Food was pretty poor, boiled veg on the side of tinned beef bourguignon such fare not seen since 1970 little chef haydays in England. Pedestrian tourist restaurant...
