What an evening! We turned up to a quiet and empty restaurant, no music and a couple of guests upstairs, before being taken down to a cave like setting for dinner. We sat next to the cheese room - a once in a lifetime experience! The chilled room behind a glass partition was home to approximately 80 cheeses (menu says 100 but I counted 😂) and if you opted for this, you could eat as many as you like for €34. Head upstairs to pluck a bottle of red from the shelf or head back into the cheese room for a chilled bottle of white. Hot dishes are available too - we got a charcuterie board with a pot of melted cheese and potatoes. All delicious. Service was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. As the restaurant filled, the ambience improved - it’s such an interactive dinner experience. Note to restaurant - just pop some music on and it would have...
Read moreLast minute recommendation from a friend and we were lucky to make a reservation. This restaurant is famous for having a cheese cave and guests that bought a cheese cave experience can have unlimited helpings. We had a look at the cave, it had around 100 types of cheese and ordered Tapas de Ouf, which was a French style antipasti: cheeses and sausages selection. Plenty for 2 people. However we ordered another course: Triple Degustation, which came in beautifuly presented in three cast iron pots with 3 hot meals of local origins. One vegetarian, one fish dish and one duck. All equally delicious. Would highly recommend it. And I have to commend this restaurant on excellent service. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and patient : he translates the full menu for us and was reminding me of the name of the cheese that I...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our experience at Baud et Millet! Originally planned to go for traditional fondue, but the warmer October weather and my first glance of their famous "Cheese Cave" changed my mind and we opted for the cave experience. Not really a cave, but a high-tech glass enclosed walk-in cooler, where dozens and dozens of delectable cheeses are offered for a set price of 30 Euro pp, which includes a large salad and great bread. You may visit the "cave" as often as you wish, where you take a plate and a knife and just start tasting all the cheeses you've seen and heard of but may not have tried. We had to limit ourselves, but it was an unforgettable experience for any cheese lover. Reasonable wine is for sale by the bottle in a shop like presentation, or by the glass by the personable young staff. Highly...
