I was surprised and disappointed and said as much. I bring my dogs to almost every restaurant and shop in Bordeaux and don't have problems elsewhere. Thankfully this is usually a very dog friendly city. The woman (probably the owner as she was American) had a nasty attitude. She suggested I tie them up outside on a dirty street with lots of cars.
