I don’t often leave a google review but the record had to be corrected, for the sake of justice and accountability. A brunch at Homies opens with a friendly welcome from the staff, armed with a smile and positive attitude. The coffee (bar the faux innovative iced coffee) was decent, albeit overpriced. Next, one takes a look at the rather short menu, which leaves on to believe that the chef must get plenty of practice with individual dishes. The maxim “practice makes perfect” does not ring true for the Homies, however.
A ‘poached’ egg, a staple for any well-intentioned brunch restaurant, is boiled. The BLT sandwich is made palatable only by the hefty dose of Hellmans mayonaise smeared onto the buttered bread. The Turkish eggs are far from Turkish and rather remind the patron of a bowl of tzatziki bought in anticipation for a lonely Friday night at home.
All in all, I simply wouldn’t recommend. The worst thing is that this has brought me to question the palette of the French. With 4.9 stars, this restaurant was supposed to be a homerun. In reality it’s only as good as my girlfriend’s tired attempt at...

We tried; Shakshuka 🤷🏻♀️: the dish arrived luke warm, the bread was quite doughy (but hot) and it needed salt to bring out the zaatar. The eggs and feta were nice but the tomato sauce needed a lot more flavour. Cassava fries 👍🏽: these were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, piping hot, and the dip was delicious. Flat white and filter coffee 👎🏽: very average coffee, the filter wasn’t great. Sesame noir baked cheesecake 🤷🏻♀️: interesting to try but was again quite nothing-y, taste of black sesame and there’s not much else to say. Would’ve been good to add maybe a fruit coulis or something to contrast the softness of the flavour and texture.
Lovely place to sit but a little warm inside. We managed to get a table outside, which was nice. It was mostly full throughout the time we were there (12.30-13.30), and the service...
Read moreWent (only) twice to Homie’s Kitchen, but let me tell you that it’s one of the best spots I have been to in Bordeaux ! 5 stars easy, should get more if it was possible.
The food is great, tasty, with fresh products and original details/twists that will enhance all affordable dishes. You can tell the guys in the kitchen know what they’re doing.
The selection of drinks are also top notch with really good prices. Any coffees or homemade drinks are worth trying.
The staffs are welcoming, skilled, friendly and care about customers, all you can hope to get from a service point of view!
The atmosphere is really nice and the playlists are great too (personal judgement here).
Overall a must stop for a chill coffee or a nice lunch with local food. Concept is well done and the name could not be...
