Pretty disappointed. I think we managed to arrive on a shift swap. We saw a really lovely waiter who took our order and was incredibly patient but then disappeared for quite some time. We'd been sat after starters ( platters of meats and cheeses plus deli which were perfectly good) for a long time with dirty plates in front before someone remembered to clear and call for the main course. Frites side order never arrived but still got charged. Ran out of time for dessert that we'd pre-ordered so had to ask for it to be cancelled... Still appeared on the bill. We came to France because we love 'proper' food but the foie gras was sub-standard on the burgers although the burgers themselves were very nice and the two fish courses were over-cooked (I assume because the mains had not been called to the kitchen but had been cooked anyway due to the time delay) Decided not to eat in the lanes because we wanted the atmosphere of the open area but in hindsight probably would have been better to look at a wall and eat more traditional French cuisine. In short, great location with a...
Read moreWe thought we were lucky to have got a table here, although we had to be squeezed between two other couples. My opinion soon changed after ordering our mains when they came out about two minutes later, despite the place being packed. My wife and I both ordered the sea bream. It came with school style mash, supposedly "Spanish style". Obviously, this meal had been pre-prepared and probably pre-cooked - likely to have been "pinged" a la Wetherspoons. The difference here is that you pay three times the price. The wine was below average at best, and we received the wrong bill at the end. So much for the supposed superiority of French cuisine. Everywhere here seems to offer the same menu, with very little difference. The prices are extortionate for average fare, and the wine and beer are ridiculously expensive. €4 or €5 is the norm here for a 250ml glass of draft (pression) lager. I normally tip the staff 10% of the total bill, but on this occasion I couldn't bring myself to do it, leaving just €1, and this...
Read moreHad TRIED to have dinner at this place but we had to leave before the order because of the SUPER UNFRIENDLY treatment from the staff there. First we were left seated for like 15-20mins without anyone trying to approach or take the orders so we tried to wave and ask for help, however there is one rude waitress approach and said we were waving in an impolite way and scolded us . We are new to this country that we didn’t know what does a polite way to wave but as a restaurant that serving foreigners this would be a good chance to tell us what is the good way and learn the local culture but instead the lady waiter just came and scolded us. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE WE ARE NOT ONLY THE CONSUMER BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY WE WONT TREAT PEOPLE LIKE THIS! Learn some manners before start the...
