Tamatebako cafe — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Nice place Staff: unfortunately not very friendly, maybe because the lockdown starts tommorow but I did not feel welcomed at all.

The coffee: 5/10 Similar to the branded coffee shops not a speciality shop. Not to say that speciality coffee shops are bad, but they are where you take coffee to go instead of savouring the coffee .

The sweet: Today and again maybe because of the lockdown starting tomorrow they did not a variety of sweets to go along the coffee. The only sweet they had was a chocolate and caramel cake which was a bit over sweet hence I do not give it a high rating.

The place: Very nice very clean and the tables are nice. They offer both outside and inside seating. Amazing decorations (10/10) Light music that does not prevent conversation.

They have a toilet

They don’t allow people to use their laptops or tablets. I took out my iPad and they told me with a very serious tone «  NOT ALLOWED », I did not argue or debate as I was scared and quickly tucked my iPad back.

They specialise in coffee, chocolate and tea, hence have a more broad approach than those specialised...

We had tea and coffee. Lots of choice and the tea and coffees wear really good quality. Served with mineral water. The floors have a good grip and the staff are very friendly and polite without being over the top. It's a WiFi free, work free, laptop free place. They don't mind of you have your phone out but actually, it's really refreshing. It's was nice to see people enjoying each other's company. It's close to the grosse cloche. I would go there again. The toilet is only 1 cubicle and the tables are quite small. I'd swap the tables and chairs for a more living room look with comfortable sofas and coffee tables. There were no prices for the cakes so we didn't have any but they looked lovely.

Great decoration, chemistry is in the air. Roomy, quite, not laptop/tablet-friendly place, just for enjoying amazing coffees/teas. I asked the owner for an espresso grand-cru recommendation, he totally hit my preferences. Best extracted cup I have ever experienced! I bought the same coffee beans at home and even I do not have a great coffee machine the coffee was amazing, full of flavors, perfectly roasted. Beverages a bit costly but totally worthy, coffee beans average price. It’s a pity I do not have this coffee bar near my home town. Willing to come...
