We had an unforgettable lunch at Auberge du Rempart in Eguisheim. The dishes were perfectly cooked and thoughtfully prepared. We had the generous choucroute with bacon, 2 types of sausages and potatoes, and Jambonneau braisé—a beautifully braised pork knuckle that was tender and delicious. Our kids had the traditional tarte flambée, and we couldn’t resist trying a bite ourselves—it was absolutely delicious! The staff were incredibly attentive and respectful throughout our meal, and the waitress was especially kind and playful with our baby, which made the experience even more enjoyable for our family. We also enjoyed a lovely Alsatian Riesling that paired perfectly with the meal. Despite being the last guests to leave after lunch, we never felt rushed. The staff ensured we could enjoy our time at a relaxed pace. Highly recommend this charming spot for anyone visiting Eguisheim.

Eguisheim is a lovely little village. Great to walk, to taste some wine and to get some good food. And there are plenty of options to have lunch or dinner. Just at the eastern end of the historic center you'll find this Auberge. We didn't stay here (they got rooms), but had some lunch outside on that sunny day. Lots of tables outside under the sun (and some umbrellas). Our Bulldog was welcome as well. Ordered two glasses of local white wine, escargots, Foie Gras (mi-cuit) and Flammkuchen with Munster cheese. The white wine was was nice, typically for Alsace on the sweeter side, but matched well with the tasty and smooth Foie Gras. Escargots were nice and tasty, but a bit on the small side. The Flammkuchen was great on the other hand. Nice, thin and crispy. And great flavours from the wonderful local cheese. Staff was friendly, prices fair. A very enjoyable lunch.

In general dinner here passed pretty nice, waiter was friendly and welcoming, but we were expecting a little better food. Tarte flambée with munster cheese and harengs a l’alsacien - tasty. Poulet au riesling - not the best (at least because the chicken leg had feathers, which didn't look very appetizing..)

Old building with much of the integrity preserved. The flooring choices (click laminate) betray the authenticity of the hotel. Steep and narrow stairs, however, make the age of the building clear. Rooms are reasonably appointed. Toiletries are limited. Bed was good and air conditioning worked quietly and efficiently for the sleeping area. The breakfast (9 Euro/pax) was ok – a selection of cheeses, a few meats, some fruit, juice, and breads. There were a few sugar cereals, but no muesli or similar German-style foods. Coffee or tea as well. Reasonable value for the food available. The owners are hardworking and operate both the hotel and the restaurant. They accommodated our bikes nicely. Hot water was a bit variable and pressures and temperatures varied in the small shower.||Restaurant. The food was good quality, large in volume and reasonably priced. Staying here, we watched the kitchen and the staff and observed high standards of food preparation and...
