I have nothing negative to say about my stay Chez Cécile et Myriam. It was a pleasure to stay in a home with such history and with such a warm welcome from the Jund family. My mother and I stayed in “L’Appartement” and felt like we were in the lap of luxury with the amount of space we had. The living room was huge and had two very comfortable twin beds in it. There were doors closing off the living room from the hall, from the kitchen, the bedroom (with a double bed) and the bathroom, so there was plenty of privacy and quiet for multiple travelers. We slept very well on the super comfy mattresses. The bathroom was very modern and updated. The WiFi was a little spotty in the apartment itself, but that’s not something I really care about, and I could get done the most important things I needed to do (namely, buying train tickets) by getting full bars down in the courtyard. I loved waking up in the morning to look out over all the half-timbered homes and tiled roofs just beyond the lovely courtyard.
The Junds’ home is beautifully situated close to everything but in its own quiet corner down the street from Rue Vauban/Grande Rue, which will take you anywhere you need to go. If you’re coming from the train station, take Bus 1 to Rue Vauban and you’ll arrive in minutes. It is a very safe neighborhood and a solo traveler would also be extremely comfortable here.
Lastly, I appreciated the family’s assistance in suggesting transportation options when the national transit strike made getting back to Paris a bit of a challenge. It all worked out and I was so grateful for their willingness to help us out! A local’s perspective is always invaluable.
Merci beaucoup à Myriam et Cécile pour nous acueillir! C’était...
Read moreThis is a wonderful & affordable Bed & Breakfast right in the center of Colmar. We stayed here over Christmas and it was a really nice, homey feeling over the holidays. They even had decorations & lights in the common areas. It was the only decent priced place available when we searched last minute over the holiday and we are so glad we were able to stay here! We stayed in the Chambre D'Antan and it was very spacious. Only thing we needed that wasn’t provided was shampoo. Breakfast was served each morning - warm bread, cheeses, jams, mini crepes, soft boiled eggs, fresh apple juice, coffee & tea, pastry. They were very friendly here, communicative before the trip and spoke English. Highly...
Read moreThe house was adorably quaint and amazing. Each room was provided with extra amenities, such as glasses, cookware/cooktop, fridge, silverware, etc. The breakfast was a classic/typical french breakfast with breads, soft boiled eggs, cereal/muesli, juice, coffee yogurt, cheese, etc. Myriam (owner) who served breakfast was very kind and caring. One morning, my husband was too tired to get up for breakfast, and she made me a tray to bring to him. These are gems of people you will never find these days. The house is steps away from downtown. Please stay here with Myriam and her family 🩷 it is the ultimate...
