Worst food I ever saw or ate! I had the vegetable soup and the sauerkraut with 5 kinds of meat and my partner had a cordon bleu with mushroom sauce and spetzle. The soup was fine. After it, I had hopes. And then the sauerkraut arrived!!!! There was some sauerkraut in the middle, 2 very small and sad boiled potatoes and 5 kinds of the cheapest and worst looking meats I have ever seen: 2 kinds of sausage (one of them some kind of bockwurst of the worst kind, the other one was acceptable, but nothing special or local looking) and 3 kinds of ... kassler? which were dry on the edges and looked like the next step in their carrier was going to be the dumpster. The dish looked like a disaster. I had no wish to start eating it. One eats also with the eyes, people! Oh well, the taste was as expected, the meats cold and dry and tasteless, but the sauerkraut itself was also bad, watered down, cold, bland. All the dish was cold. It was horrible. We cook sauerkraut with kassler and mashed potatoes at home, we know this dish, I knew what I should be eating. This was HORRIBLE. It was so bad it was funny. And it also LOOKED HORRIBLE (I know I am repeating myself, but it was that bad). My partner's dish was even worse. There came a disgusting looking grey sauce in which some melted cheese seemed to float. Under that cheese there was the thinest driest most tasteless schnitzel we have ever eaten. All one could actually taste was that cheese which was a little bitter, kind of like a raclette cheese, a lot of it. My partner said that he wasn't sure if that was a schnitzel or the sole from the cook's shoes. The life had been hammered out of that meat. It looked grey too. No idea about the spetzle, but my partner stopped eating after the first few bites. That was among the worst food experiences in our lives. I am shocked that some people appreciate that...
Read moreI would recommend that you skip this restaurant. The food is decent at best. We ordered spaghetti bolognaise, grilled rösti and creamy mushroom spaetzle. To be honest they are alright. But the service was just spoiled by this one grumpy old lady waitress named ‘Michelle’. I can see that she’s trying to do her job but unfortunately her stereotype toward certain customers actually caused other local customers to feel uneasy. When customers asked for assistance (eg to call desert, to call the bill or to ask for utensils) she would mumble or put out a deep sigh. In fact when not given any opportunity for her to ‘vent her frustration’ she would look for one just to do it! An example is her insistence on how to place the paper lining on the table. The paper has puzzles and drawing games for the kids. She would snatched it and place it just the way she wants it so the drinks would sit right on it and not on the table cloth. Imagine how the kids were feeling. SMH. When come time to pay the bill, the waitress has this look at customers who don’t order deserts. The sense of entitlement is just wrong. I feel she must be struggling very hard with life and it’s just sad she has surrounded her restaurant with this negativity. The reviews by other customers don’t lie. I hope you don’t spoil your holiday by coming to this restaurant. There are better underrated restaurants that...
Read moreWe just wanted some coffee and dessert. The lady waitress was super rude because this is a place to eat food, not dessert, even though offered on the card. It seemed like she is kicking us out. Nevertheless, it took her about two minutes to bring the order. The cake wasn’t fresh, nor good. It came straight out of the fridge as well as the Creme brûlée. We didn’t even finish, regardless our desire for some dessert brunch. She seemed very surprised that we did not tip her. Even the guests around us were surprised by such rudeness and the unfriendly vibe the waitress had towards us. To be fair, the Flammkuchen looked very good and the waitress was the nicest person to those who ordered those. I’d recommend the „green“ place (Fresh bar?) next doors, where we had some really good tea and Crêpes a day before. The staff was also...
