We stayed for one night in Dijon and we wanted to try the regional specialty: Beuf Bourgignon. Our brief Google search directed us to Leon and we were not disappointed.
We were there 5 mins before the opening, and we were waiting for the place to open and the staff were kind enough to invite us in. We first ordered the plat + desert menu (31€) but the portion was so big that there were not any room left for the desert. They were also kind enough to update our initial order as meal only.
The food was delicious, sauce was creamy, smooth, and velvety. I would not prefer the spring onions on top, the taste was too strong for me. I needed some pepper to rocket up the taste so maybe some peppercorns could be used in the sauce for extra kick. French cuisine and spices don’t seem to have a good relationship, but I am willing to keep trying new tastes. Our wines were good, the service was smooth. We observed that many guests at the restaurant were also local, which means that it is not a tourist trap but a local treasure.
We’ll totally recommend this place to our friends and family if they want to visit...

Place Is located in the old town of Dijon in a pedestrian street. Inside there is a small dinning room traditionally decorated and outside there is a terrace. Bookings are generally required.
Service Good and friendly in general but a bit rushed. There were only 2 waiters for around 30 tables and they are very busy usually. They speak fluently in English which is a plus but I missed an English translation of the menu.
Food We were welcomed with some sort of savory profiterol. We had creamy mushroom vol au vent (pastry) with beef and pork feet for starters. The vol au vent was crunchy and creamy, delicious. Pork was nice with very tasty sauce. Mains were beef sweetbreads and beef filet with sauce. Both were nicely cooked, and really tasty.
Dessert was Chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream. It was delicious and properly melted on the inside.
We liked the food because it was really made with love. Overall we had a nice experience and we...
