DO NOT COME.

Waste of time, waste of money. Unless you want to pay €40 for two drinks and be made to feel very uncomfortable.

Upon arriving the place seemed beautiful. When we got to the reception area the welcome was hostile to say the least. "Do you have a reservation?" when we replied no both staff ignored us, continued to speak in French and then begrudgingly took us to a table without any communication or warm welcome.

We were seated in the restaurant area and ordered our drinks, as we are English and the menu is in French we were taking our time to translate and understand the dishes on the menu, nothing under €26, even for a salad. When I say taking our time, we must have been there about 10 minutes and were asked 2/3 times if we wanted to order, a lot of pressure. As said, after we worked out pretty quickly the quality of the food, we told the waiter we did not want to eat but just enjoy our drinks. He asked if we would like table water which by the way costs €8 for a bottle.

Anyway, after we told the waiter we were not eating he told us in a very passive aggressive way that we had to move into the "bar area" if we were not eating. Removing us from the table infront of other guests who were looking down on us, very embarrassing.

The service was absolutely awful, I have worked in the restaurant industry for 7 years and have never received or witnessed such poor service. The male bald waiter was awful, too busy judging guests and oggling young women's bodies to pay attention to his job.

We were given our bill without us even asking, it came across as they wanted us out, despite the place being mostly a ghost town.

As you'll read from the other reviews, this is an establishment that tries very hard to sell itself as a luxury bar and restaurant, I have had better service in Mcdonald's.

If you want good food, good drinks and impeccable service go up the road (10 min walk) to Le Neapolis, a fraction of the price and even more luxury.

Whoever owns this bar, you need to rethink your business plan and probably fire some of your staff! Awful. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Save yourself some money and...

Coming back to Mandelieu for the first time since 2019 (regular visitor before covid), I was pleased to see La Plague had been refurbished.

Well, we sat down and within 5 minutes the music was so loud me and my friends couldn't talk. OK, fine, there was a hen party, but not ideal at lunch time.

It took 30 minutes before we got our drinks, and 45 minutes before we could place our food order.

OK, we can deal with that. The main problem was when our meals arrived. One person ordered a steak that was blue (ordered medium rare). It was also so tough it was virtually inedible.

My prawn linguine (€48) came with prawns that were uncooked, asin they were black.

Another of my friends had a tomato bruschetta which was more or less burnt toast with tomato on top.

The 4th person did have a good meal, beef with rice noodles.

The waiter initially dismissed our complaints and it was tough to get our point across but in fairness they eventually took 2 of the meals off the bill. Unfortunately by this point we were thoroughly disappointed. After 4 beers, a bottle of wine and two mains (remember two mains removed), the bill...

We spent 10 days at the Cala Mia beach club, choosing a spacious and comfortable BED, perfect for a family of two adults and one child. The location is pleasant and the beach itself has good potential, but unfortunately, in the BED area, maintenance leaves much to be desired: the sand is never cleaned, and the area appears neglected, which lowers the overall quality of the experience.

The restaurant, on the other hand, is well kept, and the food is decent, with dishes presented neatly. Unfortunately, another downside is the lack of organisation and friendliness: just a few more smiles and a little extra attention to customers could make a big difference—especially towards those staying for many days and spending over €280–300 per day between BED, restaurant, and drinks on the beach.

In short: great potential, but service and beach maintenance need significant...

Its a shame because its such a beautiful place, with the right approach this should be a gold mine. The food was way too over priced for what it was. 38euro for a tiny lobster roll with no flavour. The ravioli was certainly frozen and was flavourless also. Staff were huddled up in groups chatting about customers. Too many staff and not very professional. They was a guy under the floorboards of the restaurant when we were there. He was shouting up to his colleagues from underneath very bizarre. Anyway overall I was excited to go there and was throughly disappointed with the while experience. Will not be returning unfortunately
