La Gelateria — Restaurant in Grasse

We were extremely disappointed with our recent visit to La Gelateria Cannes. In 2001, we had enjoyed delicious gluten-free ice cream and were eager to repeat the experience. Unfortunately, this time, the service was terrible. The staff was cold and unhelpful when we inquired about gluten-free options. They brusquely told us that the vegan ice creams were gluten-free, without providing any specific details. We tried to explain that we had been customers before and appreciated the quality of the products, but the server responded condescendingly, "That was in 2021, now it's 2024." It seemed proud to inform us of the decline in service and quality. Furthermore, the information regarding gluten-free products seemed very approximate, which is surprising for a gelateria claiming to make its ice cream in-house. The service I received in Cannes was the worst I’ve experienced. There is clearly room for improvement in your employee training.

On May 22 around 5:40 PM, we asked for a tissue after finishing our gelato. The female staff mockingly repeated “tissue, tissue” for minutes. After walking 30 minutes from Cannes station, this experience was extremely disappointing. Leaving this review so other travelers are aware.

Best gelato in Cannes! We’ve been in the hunt for gelato in Nice and Monaco only to find the best one in Cannes.

Located at the foot of a Church in Cannes, this place is so good. It was so good that we came back for second and third scoops! Flavours tried: almond with orange jam, coffee, and catalan cream (scoops 2 and 3 didn’t make it to the pictures... we forgot and eat them right away!)

I want to take the whole tub of the almond with orange jam!!!

Pro tip: you can eat the gelato by the church... excellent view of Cannes
