L’Echoppe : Café - Boutique Déco - Restaurant — Restaurant in La Rochelle

Went there for a Sunday brunch. The staffs were not friendly AT ALL, from the beginning to the very end, we were respectful and speaking in French to communicate with the staffs. The food was okay but too expensive for its quality. For the payment - she literally rolled her eyes at us while there were some issues and said “Can you figure it out faster? I have other works to do.” isn’t complete the payment part of your job too? (The restaurant was almost empty at the time, and no one was waiting in line for the payment.) So shameful to treat your clients like this with your bad organization and attitude. The basic staff training needs to step up, but we also see the manager or someone seemed senior had the same attitude… so please avoid this place if you visit La Rochelle. Edit - after their feedback below: Sadly, no reflection on their side... only arrogance and almost saying "it's our problem to expect a decent service" it says it all about this place and its core value. I recently visited this café with my dog, both of us saturated as he was swimming and it was raining- we were both warmly received by staff which immediately warmed both of us. They brought out water to my dog straight away which I always appreciate❤ I ordered a flat white - great blend witj a nice kick, and for food I had brioche with fruit and maple syrup which was so good. There was a super pretty area to sit outside in the back but unfortunately there was a thunderstorm so we couldn't go outside. We were at the restaurant for an occasion, the atmosphere is good at the first sight. The customer experience started to get worse and worse once staffs were involved. The tone was not friendly from the moment taking order, then a waiter slipt coffee on the napkin of one of us, saying no sorry, then the same person was rolling eyes when taking care of payment with impatience and uncomfortable voice and attitude.
