This little cafe / restaurant is well situated in the heart of Saint-Émilion, with beautiful interior decor and a cool, shaded patio area. When I arrived I was told that I could only sit in the patio area if I was ordering food. I'm completely fine with this, as I appreciate the business's need to free up tables during peak times. I was happy to be seated inside and ordered my drink and some cake. Both absolutely delicious. Based on the food and atmosphere, I would have given this venue 5 stars, however the service was not very good.

As I have said, I was told I needed to sit inside if I was just ordering drinks, this is fine, but the manner in which I was spoken to came across as impatient, rude, and aggravated. When I inquired about sitting outside it felt as though I was being chastised for my question. The whole experience felt like I was being told off by a school teacher. This is unfortunately the reason I have rated the venue so low.

I only say this for constructive criticism, but by just addressing your customers in a more friendly manner you can provide a much more enjoyable experience. I would love to have come back the next day for food, but because of the way I was spoken to, I decided otherwise. I really hope this does change, as it is such a lovely spot, and the cakes and coffee really...

We had a lovely lunch here with our toddler. They have a menu option for kids as well which is great. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. I asked them to prepare my salad without cheese as I am lactose intolerant and they prepared it for me with avocados instead, which was a very nice surprise. We were happy that we could find a nice and quiet place to have lunch even after lunch hours. Our waittres doesn't spoke much English but we could easily get along with my little French knowledge, but I heard her speak English with other customers and they also managed just fine. The dessert selection is very nice with quite a few options. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an light lunch or a coffee...

That was quite a humiliating experience which really spoiled the morning. We arrived 10 mins earlier than 11:00 when the cafe is opening, and the lady who was obviously running the place in quite an impolite manner, while talking on the phone, using her index finger showed that we should not be entering. We had a walk and were back at 11:00, when we were informed that our entrance was refused and we can come in 30 mins or so. Again, impolite manner. The place is really lacking hospitality, we were not welcome. That looked like a beautiful place, but unfortunately the attitude was not the one that we would...

Alors que dire.. ? Dommage si on voulait autre chose.

Amazing, don't miss it, restaurant is part of the chateau la rose pourette. The chef was really nice and the wine and food amazing. Wine is mainly from the estates of the owner which he has around Bordeaux. Excellent food, wine and beautiful atmosphere
