Arrived not long after the restaurant opened and it was filling up fast. We didn't have a reservation and we were given a table near the door which was ok as we were just happy to get inside. There was an older gentleman who maybe was the owner, I found him very friendly and hospitable, however I couldn't extend that to the rest of his staff. Those taking our orders were neither friendly nor rude other than one reasonably young chap, I ordered a coffee which came without milk which I'd asked for. After watching this waiter appear to avoid all eye contact (it was busy) I approached the bar just to ask for milk, at this point the young waiter asked why I was asking for milk, he had given me one (he actually gave it to the table next to us who passed it to us, it was only a tiny cream carton so I wanted a little more which I didn't think was unreasonable), this belligerent young chap said "no you can't have another, one coffee, one cream". I was exasperated and asked if he was joking. At this point the older gentleman intervened and sent the young chap to serve others, he smilingly then opened a box of these milk cartons and invited me to take as many as I liked. So what was this other guy's problem? It made me feel as if non french were not welcome (I did my best to speak in French). The food was actually fantastic. This would've been a five star review if not for the actions of one rude employee who seriously affected my experience. I wouldn't return for this reason, and very rarely do I feel like this as you will see from my many...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant after seeing reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. The food was bland and very poorly presented. The children had an adults meal that resembled macaroni cheese, however it tasted of pasta dipped in milk. Our meals were chewy beef and a mushroom truffle pasta. Both tasted of nothing even after adding copious amounts of salt and pepper.
I was very disappointed as we were only in Lille for 3 nights and this was a really disappointing meal.
Service from waiters was good but food was very poor. I...
