Fantastic atmosphere, we got dragged into the back room and squished into a little table amongst a lively and fun local crowd all hoeing into big hearty dishes.
Service was excellent, they enjoyed our poor attempt at French and offered an English menu, and were very patient.
Our starters were incredible; their interpretation of Lyonaise Salade included a thick grilled rasher of bacon and lots of fresh green leaves, and their chicken liver salad was full of taste and crunch!
The House Cot de Rhone was tasty and great value - order more than you think you'll need!
Mains were a different story for us - we got adventurous and ordered the Tripe and the Veal Head, and unfortunately neither of us could stomach the meals that came out. This is nothing against the quality of the meal, it just wasn't for us. There were no hard feelings when we left our plates relatively untouched.
We would definitely recommend, and may even go back to order something a bit less...
Read moreA super nice restaurant offering traditional French and Lyonnaise dishes. I will straight away announce that the ‘catch of the day’ dish was so delicious! My boyfriend ordered a menu, which wasn’t that expensive. Starting with the appetiser, the poached egg in wine sauce on top of a slice of bread was great! For his main dish he ordered the beef with pasta, but it wasn’t that good. The service was nice and fast, the waitress was kind and spoke English, and everything went quite smoothly. The atmosphere is also pleasant, with a family-style interior reminding a cosy place. All in all, I had a great experience, especially because of the fish dish; strongly recommend it if...
Read moreI came to the restaurant for dinner. Right at the entrance I told them that due to my pregnancy I have some food restrictions, and I want to make sure I will find something to eat. They of course answered yes. We sat down and deliberated between several items on the menu as we were not sure what items contain pasteurized cheese and what does not. The waiter who served us had poor English but on top of that he was impatient. The people at the table next to us were very nice and helped to translate for him everything to French but still he was rude and gave a very unpleasant atmosphere. He continued and complained about us to the people at the table next to us that were trying to help. We must say that the food was tasty but we left with a bad taste because of a rude and...
