Le Naïo: Bar, Restaurant, Tapas,Glacier — Restaurant in Marseille

We came around 6pm to the restaurant whilst the staff was having their worker’s dinner. When approaching the staff and asking them in French whether the restaurant was open, they looked confused at us. So I asked them in English whether the restaurant was open and if we could take a seat, to which they answered yes.

Once sat down, we did not get any attention for 10 minutes and only after approaching the waiter, he asked us to change the table as we were seating at a table for four people but only as a group of two.

As the restaurant was empty and we only wanted to have an aper, I was pointing out the there would be no reason to shift tables to which the waiter refused. So we left the restaurant due the non flexible position of the waiter.

On the way out we got confronted by the manager, explaining the same that we only wanted to have a drink and the restaurant was completely empty. He also refused, so we said bye and walked away.

At that moment one of the staff shouted “Nic ta mere” (f… your mother) at us.

I do not support such a behaviour nor atmosphere at all. Stay away...

We don’t speak French and they were able to communicate very well with us as English speakers they were nice. They are very vegetarian friendly. They had a veggie burger that was so good. It tasted like a hash brown as a burger. I really liked it. I got a risotto that was vegetarian and it was yummy. They also were able to make the salads two of them a Caesar and a Thai Asian one and put the meats like chicken and shrimp on the side so the vegetarians could have it too, which we really appreciated. It is also pretty cheap. It was also away from all of the crowded areas. I was happy that we found this place. It is hard to find vegetarian, friendly places, especially when you don’t...

My family and I came to this restaurant for dinner. We were welcomed by Nico, who was our waiter for the evening. He took the time to explain the entire menu to us (we do not speak French and he noticed us trying to use google translate to understand the menu) and gave us fantastic recommendations for the food. The rest of the staff were also very kind and helpful and really added to our experience. The food was surprisingly good - I say surprising because the spot is located with a very nice view of the water and sometimes places with such a nice view/ambiance have mediocre food but that was not the case with this spot.
