YACHT CLUB DE CASSIS — Restaurant in Marseille

The waitress was very nice ! We had a salad with hot chèvre - very big portion. Half way down I found that something was rotten and had to spit out - my son tasted it and did the same - we called the waiter and told her to smell it - she took it to the owner -who said it was fine ??? It smells like a garbage can - when I received the bill it was still there - the owner said that because it took me 20 minutes to smell it nothing was wrong ? I said that I wouldn’t pay - he wouldn’t change it .. I paid and said that I would write this - absolutely ridiculous fighting for 20 eur in a 500 eur bill - the guy was very rude and I strongly recommend not going ! The menu on the website was 95 % of the actual - “… we change the menu every week…” well we came for what was the website - including profiteroles … - absolutely amateurs ! And then he send the waitress to tell me - he was in the background and didn’t come out before I wouldn’t pay… pour staff - they were doing...

Pretty bad experience could tell they didn’t really want us there as tourists. Tried our best to communicate but obviously wasn’t good enough quite sure the waiter made comments about us to another table about how we didn’t speak French. Wonder if he has ever been to a country where he doesn’t speak the language. All you can do if try to understand and speak the few words you know. The food could have been the best in the world but wouldn’t have tasted good after being made to feel...

A really wonderful "local" experience. Recommended to us by one of the staff at a Domaine du Bagnol (amazing cellar door by the way!). We had entrecote and duck as mains which were excellent and the local rose for 9€ was delightful with dinner. Staff were attentive and friendly and very patient with my broken French.
