O vesuvio — Restaurant in Montpellier

The pizza wasn’t bad, but the experience has been completely ruined by the terrible service. Although the restaurant has but a few tables and only part of them was occupied, they made us wait 30 minutes just to take our orders. Then we waited more than 30 minutes for 3 pizzas. Because of this, we hadn’t time to enjoy our long-waited dinner, because a storm was about to break out and the restaurant only had tables outdoors and they didn’t even have umbrellas. They didn’t apologise for the long wait, they kept letting new customer sit when they obviously wouldn’t have been able to feed them in a reasonable time and before the storm. They knew their customers wouldn’t have been able to have dinner without getting soaked, yet they still made them sit.

You could only pay inside the the restaurant, which was incredibly hot because of the pizza oven. So we basically had an undesirable sauna for no less than 15 minutes.

Moreover, some of the desserts, which shouldn’t be kept at such high temperatures, were kept in a displayer on the counter, regardless of basic...

Nous avons passé une soirée entre amis au restaurant O vesuvio ce mardi soir. Nous sommes déjà venu et avons passé une super soirée, la cuisine et le service était top. Mais ce mardi était vachement différent. En arrivant la personne nous donne les cartes, nous avions fait notre choix pour les boissons et plats quand ils nous dit qu’il n’y a pas de vin blanc? Pas de lasagne? Pas de pâtes gratinées? Pas de dessert à part le tiramisu? Et j’en passe. Bref il manquait la moitié de la carte ! car le mardi est le jour de leur réouverture et qu’ils n’ont pas le temps de tout préparer et cuisiner ?? C’est du jamais vu ! Alors on prévient directement la clientèle que le mardi le restaurant fonctionne en carte réduite au téléphone au moment de la réservation. Nous avons mangé des pizzas, salade et parmigiana c’était bon, mais je pense que le cuisinier a changé depuis, c’était pas la même chose que la première fois que nous sommes venu. J’ai payé une calzon ro non (si je me souviens bien du nom), 18€, pas d’huile de truffe or écrit sur la carte (l’excuse est qu’il n’en avait pas reçu! Comme le vin blanc au final). Même pas de geste commercial évidemment. Bref très déçue, je ne...

Many friends recommended us this restaurant and they were not wrong. The Food was very tasty, size was more than ok. we ordered à calzone and pizza fritta🩷 and cannolo siciliano as dessert (incredible). They have Italian béer. The Place is cozy, great chairs and beautiful cuttlery. It was full of italians!

Negative point: the waiter did not speak nor understood Italian....
