Restaurant Isabella — Restaurant in Montpellier

When it comes to Greek (and Lebanese) cuisine, I'm very demanding. Maybe I'm biased, but they got the best dishes in the world. The first time I went to Isabella, it was closed. However, I talked to the owner and her friends. They explained to me that they're open on Sundays until 2:00 pm, but they encouraged me to visit them. That's Greek hospitality, at its finest... About two weeks ago, I decided to go and try the most emblematic Greek dish: a chicken Souvlaki, with some Pita bread. This dish comes with French fries and tzatziki. When it arrived at my table, and I tried it, I didn't want to get up... Ohh, I almost forgot the Ouzo: I ordered this alcoholic drink and the combination with the dish was superb. After the meal, I got some space for dessert, so I decided to order a kataifi with pistache ice cream. The food was absolutely fantastic. The owner and all the employees were very kind. Joyful, Mediterranean people. Therefore, I saved this place as one of my favourites in Montpellier. The food at Isabella was pretty good—nothing mind-blowing, but definitely tasty enough. 🍽️ The service was okay, the portions were okay... everything was just okay. But you know what? Sometimes "okay" is enough. We got lucky with the weather, and the warm evening made the experience much more enjoyable. 🌞

At night, you can almost imagine the trees everywhere, and the oppressive cement blocks that try to crush your soul during the day fade into the background. 🌙 It gave the whole place a much more relaxed, pleasant vibe.

LE PIRE RESTAURANT QUE J’AI JAMAIS FAIT DE MA VIE ! Je n’avais encore jamais vu ça. Nous étions venus fêter un anniversaire (nous étions 10). Normalement, notre commande passée à 21h30 arrivera demain midi si tout va bien. Que dire des plats : portés disparus, un mystère non élucidé, trouver Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes semble plus simple. Le serveur était bourré comme si il sortait du MilkClub et nous a même agressé verbalement quand nous nous sommes plains de la lenteur du service je cite « si vous n’êtes pas contents c’est pareil » Ah oui le service parlons-en, 1h d’attente pour des ricard et des bières, aucune excuse quant au délai d’attente, ils commençaient à ranger toutes les tables autour de nous mais toujours aucun plat servis à l’horizon. Des bières servies sans verres, un coca en canette et des ricard dosé comme un rat. En guise toujours le même serveur qui se crame une clope à côté de nous dans le plus grand des calmes (on attendait toujours nos commandes). Une fois les plats commandés, plus aucune nouvelle des serveurs que l’on croisait de temps à autre comme un ex toxique en boîte mais qui ne nous décrochaient pas un mot. En résumé, nous ne pourrons pas donner notre avis sur la nourriture mais par pitié, améliorez votre service de restauration. Des collégiens en stage d’observation auraient proposés un meilleur service que celui-là. Déplorable, très déçus, nous devions sortir au bar juste après car nous fêtions un anniversaire, tout cela à été gâché. Nous sommes donc partis sans avoir vu les plats et sans payer nos boissons également car le respect va dans les 2 sens (surtout après 2h30 d'attente). Avec en supplément pour la fin le serveur (le second cette fois-ci le plus jeune) nous menaçant de revenir « en équipe » nous casser la gueule. Nous l’attendons toujours.
