In 2022, this restaurant has high quality of service once again and can provide a good night's entertainment and a lot of fun for the family with satisfactory food. The waitress who served us was absolutely charming and we really enjoyed our meal. The prices, which seemed ridiculous seven years ago haven't increased and now align better with most other local restaurants (which have dramatically increased prices and removed their meal deals), and seem more affordable. This is a place to go for the general atmosphere and the entertainment, I wouldn't recommend it for foodies. But we had a lot of fun with the kids.
Lunch 2015: Pirates Paradise has all the appeal of a Disney ride, but all the quality of service of a surly Bangkok market stall. The wait staff do try hard to make a go of it, but are extremely understaffed. The manager will seat you anyway but don't expect your food in a hurry. Each meal may arrive individually over a twenty minute period, and the dessert, well... just forget about it. It's really a shame because we have visited this restaurant several times and although we always regretted the high prices, the generally fun atmosphere made up for it. However, in 2015, the situation changed, and if you see this restaurant and feel tempted, please just...
Read moreAs a non-native french speaker it was always going to be tricky negotiating a French dinner theatre show, however, the language barrier didn't really present too much of a problem for our experience.
For those who have frequented any premier theme park, expect the same level of visual and audible immersion. The modest restaurant externals hide a lavish pirate utopia within, old stone fortifications, rigging and skeletal pirates adorn every available nook and cranny. Once you have negotiated the menu the food is delivered promptly, presented beautifully and is esquisite on the palate. Our server was extremely patient with our broken french and was more than happy to converse in English as required.
Now I mentioned French dinner theatre, and this is true, you are presented with a swashbuckling spectacle, which takes place atop a gang-plank above the dining area whilst animatronic pirate skeletons narrate a terrible tale...at least I think that's what was happening!
All that mattered was that the food was delicious, the children enjoyed themselves and opened their eyes to new tastes and we left feeling good. Pirates Paradise delivered on all counts, definitely...
Read moreIf I could give this place a minus I would. Totally ruined a great day and a special birthday too. We went here for a childs birthday. A waitress came round inviting the children to go up into the birds nest for the spectacular, follow her she said with a great smile. When they got there, they where told they couldn't go up as there were to many children. Lots of children where very upset. They were devastated, as they had to watch all the other children having the fun. Do not ask a 6 year old child to do something exciting and then turn around and say actually they cannot go. I complained and was made to feel awful and I felt condescend upon. Then they never bought out the sparkling cake for my daughter, probably to be mean.it was awful as they were a lots of Birthdays.
The food is terrible and overpriced. The spectacular has been changed it is short and underwhelming. What a shame what could be a great restaurant. Save your money..... We were in two minds whether we should go as it is expensive....
