Artichoke Gallery Cafe — Restaurant in Nantes

Super nice. Cool. Healthy local organic food. Warm atmosphere. Independent business. Perfect coffee!!!! No bitter espresso here. Great place for work and leisure. Call in advance: they are often full.

I came back since last review above. I now have made it one of my fav spots to go for coffee or lunch when I come to Nantes. If I can find a spot. Brew, filter, or espresso. Beans of choice. Somewhat limited menu (not a restaurant per se) and food goes fast but excellent healthy lunch.

Once more: better reserve or if you come late may be ask to reserve lunch for you!

One super plus: dogs are welcome and Mystic who I saw there a couple of times is sooooo sweet and zen and welcoming without...

I came here recently for a hot chocolate and it was nice. We were greeted by a lovely dog which is always a good start. When the serveur told me that he had a lot of orders and it make take a few minutes I appreciated this gesture as sometimes they tell you to take a seat without warning of waiting time. I really liked the bot chocolate but it was in a tiny tea cup which I'm not a fan of - It may look pretty but for me this would be ok if it was served with the hot chocolate in a jug (I've had this in other places that serve hot choc in a tea cup so you are offered more hot chocolate). Si vous aimez une ambiance paisible, les endroits uniques et singuliers où l’on sert de l’excellent café mais aussi toute sorte de boissons à base de produit uniquement naturel alors tout vous pousse à entrer à L’Artichaut. Pour ma part, j’y ai mangé une planche de charcuterie fine, bien choisie et Fromage frais, amendes et salade. De quoi se caler simplement entre midi. Le vin y est servi au verre, quand la bière est nantaises. L’artichaut c’est comme une ambiance « de chez-soi » tout en étant ailleurs. Les patrons, un couple jeune et sympa vous accueillent avec le sourire et vous parle de leur passion « street art », et « manger sain » c’est vous qui le voulez, jamais intrusifs ou envahissant...vous avez bu votre café rien de grave vous pouvez lire aussi longtemps que vous le voulez. C’est comme si à l’Artichaut le temps s’arretait... Franchement on est loin des « Bar branchouille »Starbucks, Etc au café sans goût, loin des points-chauds à la pâtisserie industrielle et insipide... Pour ma part je n’ai pas trouvé cher, à ce demander comment ils font...café d’exception à 2€, une bière authentique à 5€ qu’ils s’excusent presque de vous encaisser...après que vous soyez resté l’après-midi ou presque. J’espère pouvoir y retourner a mon prochain séjour avec un bon bouquin bien calé dans leur fauteuil club.
