Do not come here, especially on a Sunday.
Every person must choose from a limited set menu with no flexibility. There were bones in the anchovies, the pancakes has four small pieces of banana that were left out for too long and were drowned in a yucky chocolate sauce, the Eton mess was just sad, they served really oily breaded prawns, and my future mother in law warned that a public health warning should be issued when they serve the compote. The apricot juice (the only juice option available, despite the fact you must have juice with the set menu) was… tart. Coffees were just ok. You can tell they’ve skimped on the quality of ingredients and the flavours feel really manufactured.
Also, after insisting that we had to have five full brunch menus for five people with no flexibility, the team forgot to bring out one of the five meals anyway. Our waiter was lovely in himself though, so no complaints about him.
Honestly I never leave bad reviews but it’s just awful food and people should know. Make sure to book brunch elsewhere on a Sunday so you...
Read moreWhile on our camper van road trip through Bretagne, we stopped for lunch at Pilgrim, located in the charming Place Graslin in Nantes, and it was a delightful experience. We tried the lunch menu, starting with a puff-pastry wellington filled with regional sausage, accompanied by a smoky tomato sauce, mustard, and pickles. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. For the main course, we enjoyed a bulgur salad with a perfectly cooked oeuf parfait, paired with a nori-leek cake, yogurt sauce, and a roasted lemon vinaigrette that was absolutely delicious. A glass of regional white Muscadet complemented the meal beautifully.
The service was equally impressive—the staff, including both the waiters and host, were friendly and attentive, and the food came out fast, warm, and perfectly seasoned. They even brought a water bowl for our dog, which was a lovely touch. If you're in Nantes, we highly recommend Pilgrim for a delicious meal and a welcoming atmosphere. It was one of the highlights...
Read moreMy new favourite place for lunch & dinner! I visited Nantes for 4 days and visited 3 times due to how brilliant both the food and service was. We visited as a party of 2 and as a party of 10, and on both occasions the quality of the food was outstanding. The service was consistently fast and servers were very friendly. As a person who struggles to speak French I often worry about ordering and going out, but the waitress was extremely accommodating and offered me an English version of the menu. The interior is beautiful, with a real family feel. Pilgrim also offer a variety of options for children, which the...
