A bitter sweet experience. We loved the food and the space, in an old square. We loved it so much we went there twice. During our first visit we got the feeling the staff wasn’t very comfortable with the fact that our 3 kids were walking and playing around the table (again, it’s an town outdoor square) but still we came back advising the kids that they had to behave, and they did. After the meal our kids were playing quietly with another a baby girl from the table next to ours and finally we were called out: “this is a restaurant not a playground”. People in the restaurant around us were shocked. When we confronted the owners their reaction was: “When I take my kids to the restaurant they stay sitting in the table the whole time, no matter if it’s an outside table”. Enough said, maybe I’m not raising my kids according to grumpy restaurant owner’s standards, but at least they’re happy. Not children friendly is probably a more...
Read moreCame to this restaurant because it had such good reviews and high recommendation but was slightly disappointed by how basic the food tasted though they said it was home made. The raviolis I had had tasted as if they came out of the Monoprix pre-made section with a jar of Barilla Pasta sauce. It lacked taste and flavour. Never been disappointed so much and for the price. Not the best. My bf was satisfied with his dish even though it lacked taste. And the bread they served felt like it was old and was super hard. 🫠 But the staff were nice and the ambience was good. Which is why I give them 3 stars on average. Sorry!
Edit: Before you accuse me of making bad impression and hiding behind a keyboard. I did tell the person in the counter that I found the raviolis a little bland before we paid. And I wrote what I felt. Gaslighting and making replies like that is not very professional on your part. Maybe improve...
Read moreUnfortunately, a very disappointing experience. We sat at our table for 15 minutes - after entering the venue and asking for a table for three - and not a single staff member acknowledged us — no communication after showing us our table, no offer to take our order, nothing. The restaurant wasn’t even particularly busy, yet we were completely ignored. Eventually, we just got up and left. Basic hospitality was entirely missing, which is unacceptable for any dining establishment. 🙈
For the answer: a guest who deserves a little attention in decent establishments is only lectured by a truly brazen operator (I wouldn’t call them a restaurateur). Unfortunately, such “places” are what tarnish the reputation of French...
