We went here for a late lunch and was almost completely ignored by the staff. The restaurant was almost empty, and it looked like they were prepping for a dinner rush later, which is fine. Our problem was that the waiters almost completely ignored us. We stood by the entrance for a solid 5 minutes waiting before someone showed us to a table, while the waiters were sitting at a table scrolling on their phones and looking up at us.
The food was fine, it came out relatively fast. Our second problem was after eating, we sat for 15 minutes ready for somebody to take our plates and our dessert order. We had to basically call someone over. After that we sat for almost 30 minutes waiting for a panna cotta. Nobody checked on us that entire time. The waiters sat at a table right by us scrolling on their phones, talking to each other. We tried to ask them if the dessert was almost ready two times, but was ignored. At last my friend had to go up to the bar to ask, and it turned out they forgot the dessert. Even though we sat there in plain view in an almost empty restaurant with spoons on the table waiting for our dessert.

The terrasse had plenty of seatings in shade (and naturally also plenty in the sun for those sun lovers!), which was lovely on a hot sunny day! We ate lunch at La Pecora Negra twice during our stay in Menton. The place are into sourcing high quality and organic produce, which is in the line with our wishes. The pizzas had good flavours. The pizza base had a good crust but was slightly on the "brülee" side for my liking. I know that some people like them that way, but I don't! I did specificly ask our waiter to make the kitchen know that we preferred our pizzas without black bits, but still they came out too burnt for my liking. Thats the only reason I cannot give 5 stars,
Beside an attentive male "head" waither, who took out food orders, we had the pleasure of having a more junior female waiter, Bashra (sorry for spelling!), as our "drinks" waiter. She was lovely and professional, and in addition she had a true eye for costumer service and then some! I was impressed by her eye for the detail, to be honest, and Im a tough costumer to please! She is a definite win for the restaurant.
I would def come back when in Menton, and hopefully the kitchen can make a mence and I will be happy to make a 5...

I ordered the LA CETARA pizza with Organic tomato sauce, mozzarella, anchovies, Taggiasche olives and canned cherry tomatoes. My better half ordered the SALADE VERTE, Green salad, Parma and ham, Ms. Curti's goat cheese, organic parmesan shaves and pistachios. WOW! Each individual food you could taste each ingredient in it, nothing overwhelmed the other. The salad you could taste the cheese Lettuce Tomatoes Olive oils, the dressing. We also ordered The socca and it was amazing The Italian bread served with fresh real olive oil was a flavorful meal itself as the olive oil was magnificent The pizza was to perfection.
