Omura — Restaurant in Nice

We hoped for a simple dinner experience but while the food was decent, the service was rather bad. I want to say that I am not angry but I was hangry and disappointed. One of the waiter was pleasant when we arrived. But the other waitress continued to ignore us throughout the night. The service continued to deteriorate as we had to ask multiple times for water to be served on the table.

We came for dinner for a group of 6 people around 6:45pm and meal was served at 8:08pm. After 45minutes, we asked the staff where our food was as they started serving food to tables that arrived later than us. If they forgot our meal, they should have apologised and let us know but they just said it will be ready in 4 minutes. They also started to avoid looking at our table as they continued to serve all the other tables around us. The tables after us noticed this and they also finished their meal before we were served noting that that it was horrible the way the staff treated us and that we should probably get a discount on our meal.

Over an hour later, we finally received our meal and it was good. The taste was decent so I want to be fair to the restaurant. It was not bad as the French would say.

When the bill came, there was no discount and the staff never offered any appetisers or desserts for the delay. I was really hoping to give the restaurant a benefit of the doubt, but they didn’t care at all. Just here is the bill.

They did apologise but I’m not too sure if it was sincere because the staff mentioned something about China, and this is when I got pretty annoyed because although we are of an Asian descent, we are from Australia and not from China. I turned back and said ‘we are not from China’. The waiter said that his boss was in China. Maybe it’s because I wanted to speak with the manager about training their staff better.

I just wanted to leave the review for the owner that better training should be provided to the staff. Instead of chatting away for the hour, they would’ve have noticed that we never received our food after 45minutes. Customers should not need to request the staff check on their food multiple times. They also noted that they did not have a manager when I requested to speak to them. I’m not too sure if this is real or they were just trying to avoid...

I visited this restaurant last week and at first I thought the service was good. This was until we ordered a vegetarian soup with tofu that sounded great until our food arrived and had pieces of chicken. We called the waitress over to explain that there was definitely shreds of chicken in the soup but she insisted that we had no idea what we were talking about and it was tofu, I continued to tell her that there was indeed tofu but also pieces of shredded chicken. She was fuming, and called another waitress to help while still adamant that she was right. This waitress confirmed that the dish did indeed have chicken pieces. This was extremely upsetting, considering I am vegetarian for religious reasons.

Our original waitress continued to avoid us for the rest of the evening and didn't even apologise for making a mistake and even more importantly for behaving as badly as she did.

I honestly do not mind people making a mistake but her behaviour was really not on. She treated us if we were stupid and had no idea what we talking about.

I decided not to order anything else from the menu, and when we went to pay, they justified everythinf by giving us a free rice but honestly after the behaviour of the waitresses , we will not be...

Never had worse service in my life. They didn’t even give us a menu, we took some from the table next to us. It took around 30 minutes for our waitress to come and take our order. Before that our waitress was crying and vaping with some other servers on the side of the tables outside. They are so disorganized, witnessed them give several tables the wrong orders. They also of course made sure that the one table with Hermes shopping bags was attended to before us even when they sat down 30 minutes after us. After finally getting to order after being there for 45 minutes, they brought our appetizer out before even getting us drinks, we didn’t even order cocktails just water and an ice tea. The table next to us looked to be having the same problems and most people looked very unhappy with the service. The food was subpar, the pad Thai was one of the worst I had in my life and the green curry with prawns was decent but had no spice and barely any curry sauce. This experience completely ruined the vibe for my partner and I, we are patient and understanding people but to an extent. This was just unacceptable, none of the staff had any idea what was going on or apologized for their mess...
