Restaurant de la Terrasse — Restaurant in Nice

Had a bad experience here, our first dinner in Nice. We don't understand why this is so highly rated.

Food seemed great on the menu, but lacked in so many ways. Flavours didn't work together, from very salty to lacking any taste and conflicting flavours trying to compete. And this for the hefty price tag of 50-55 euros per person. Redeeming factor was the dessert. Food was 2/5 stars.

Service was just plain bad: 1/5 stars. We arrived at 20:00 and got seated outside, which was fine since we didn't reserve a table and the temperature still allowed it. But then it took 30 minutes before we were able to even order a drink. And then another 15 to order the food. Then another 30 before the starters came. And another 30 before the main came. By 22:00 we were so cold and we still wanted dessert to make up for the food. It took so long to get any attention. We asked to be moved inside for just the dessert part, which they luckily obliged. But then it took another 20 minutes for them to take our dessert and coffee order. We left a bit after 23:00, but we would rather have...

Just got intoxicated with the sea food!!! Be careful!!!

My second time at this restaurant, and this time was a terrible experience. My wife and I ordered the “Scottish Salmon Grilled in a Sesame Seeds Crust” that supposed to be grilled but it was totally raw. I ate it all but my wife could not eat anything. I informed the waiter and showed to him the plate, he said he could offer a dessert as a service recovery. The plate is costing circa 30€ and which service recovery you want to offer with a complementary dessert??? At least they could not include one Salmon in the bill, but they did include both. The tremendous part was when in the night when I started to feel bad. I throw up and had for the whole night stomachache and headache and I want to be optimistic and say it was because it was raw and not because it was spoiled.

Well, they just lost 2 clients who used to name their restaurant and recommend to all our friends when paying to visit Nice!

Very disappointed for a restaurant...

Terrible service. I made a reservation to get drinks for my friends birthday. As soon as we were seated I told our waiter we were just getting drinks, ordered our drinks and enjoyed the view, until our waiter came over and asked for our food order. I told him we were just enjoying drinks, ready to order a second round of very expensive drinks (they were good hence the 2 stars for food) and our waiter made a scene yelling to his manager that we weren’t ordering dinner. The manager came over and told us we had to leave and “sit in the corner”. He told us we couldn’t sit there because we weren’t ordering dinner, although I made a reservation and no where did it indicate I couldn’t make a reservation for drinks? It made such a scene everyone in the restaurant was looking. We moved over to the corner just to be ignored and I had to go to the front to ask to pay our bill, after being rudely and loudly kicked out of our table.
