A decent spot for Szechuan food in Paris, though not exactly the place for hardcore mala lovers.
We started with two vegetable dishes: the stir-fried string beans with minced pork and peppers were flavorful and well-executed. The steamed vegetables with soy sauce, however, leaned too salty for our taste.
We also tried the steamed whole fish, which came in a soy-based sauce with scallions and chili. Unfortunately, the dish didn’t match the server’s description — we were told it would be spicy and pickled, but it turned out to be neither. Still, it was a savory and well-cooked dish, just not what we expected.
As for the spicy fried chicken, it looked promising with a mountain of dried chilies, but it lacked real heat. Instead, it was overwhelmed by white pepper — so much so that I could smell it before tasting it, and it actually made me sneeze. Not ideal.
Overall, the food is decent, and some dishes are enjoyable, but if you’re on the hunt for that signature numbing, fiery Szechuan experience, this probably won’t...
Read moreWhat a great experience it was. We were walking around to find some asian food and everyone was saying they close at 23hr (11pm USA). They went out of their way to understand us, another customer there tried to help us as well and it all worked out. The food was tasty and great. This is one of the nicest experience I will take from...
