We just went to this restaurant so I want to clarify a few things: our pizzas were a little burnt underneath and on the edges, not so much my parents' but mine for sure (I ordered a Siciliana). The rest was good and the ingredients seem to be just as good. However, we wanted a discount and the manager said “burnt? How? Where?" only because at that moment he was returning to the kitchen with one of the plates but it wasn't the remains of my pizza, which was visibly black especially at the edges and he noticed it before but he pretended he didn’t see it! Also he was the one serving the plates. I even said it at the register but he didn't respond. I don’t even think he speaks English but apparently being rude and thinking that other people must speak French seems the normality in this country. He didn’t even say sorry and he very angrily took off my father’s pizza after he complained.
Also, a personal note: at first, when we arrived, and you were just opening at 7pm (by the way, a few minutes late), you addressed me in a very arrogant way. You asked me if I had a reservation and I told you no, you replied that we could stay inside but only if… and then you said something else in French. So I said “What? I didn't understand" and you, being annoyed and very rude, started the conversation AGAIN by telling me "good evening, welcome. Do you have a reservation? No?" and only then you said that we could stay until 8.30pm because afterwards you’d have another reservation for that table, in English. I said okay only because I was with my parents otherwise I would have said "with that attitude, I’m not even entering the place, bye" and left from the beginning because that was very cringe. Rest assured that I won't come back here. I may not speak the French language, but that doesn't mean I'm a tourist or that I won't share my experience. If the pizzas had been perfect, I would’ve given 3 stars. The waiters were great and kind, the aesthetic of the place is fine, the only problem there is the manager. Keep in mind that what bothers people the most is the attitude, not only the quality...
Read moreNot sure what people love so much about this place. The bald man, mentioned in another (one-star) review, who greeted us as a host was incredibly rude. Likely flustered because it was a busy night, if it wasn’t for the fact me and my family were literally starving we would have told him off and left. He had us come in and wait at the bar until a table was ready, and the barman was very friendly and nice though the bar is directly in a high traffic area with no stools or anything to comfortably sit. After a long day of shopping around the heart of Paris this was not ideal. When our table was finally ready the waitress (Romy - the only woman visibly on staff) sat us down, and she was fine enough though when we left she gave us a card of the restaurant with her name written on it to ask for a review that mentions her. That got me suspicious about the reviews of this place in general, how many come here unprompted and how many after a waitress begs them seeming very much like a hostage asking for help??? Considering the number of reviews that mention her by name and i imagine she hustles like this a lot. I eat out at restaurants quite a bit and I’ve never had my waitress give me a card if the restaurant and write her name on it to ask for a review. I don’t find that professional or like it’s a good end to my dining experience, especially because at €130 for the table for a forgettable meal I feel like I’d already given this restaurant enough. All the food I had my whole week long trip was great, except this pizza. It was not hot enough, the thin crusts quickly became soggy, the ´yellow tomato sauce’ seemed like a non-ingredient on 2 of the pizza we ordered as they were so overloaded with other toppings, and as soon as they cooled to room temperature (which was fairly quickly), they were like eating a ball of chewy, floury, wet dough with cheese on top. The cheese , at...
Read more2025 update: we’re back again this year and the food is every bit as good as we remember. We just had the most delicious lunch. The pizza here is truly special and unlike any pizza we have back in the states.
We got a chance to thank the Italian chef and kitchen staff, who couldn’t have been nicer but it was our server Julian that stole our hearts. He is a delightful young man who made sure we felt right at home and took care of our every need. His English is excellent, and he helped us with our French. It’s these kinds of personal connections that make it all worthwhile. The young woman server was also very nice and helpful, but we didn’t catch her name :(
And not only was the food amazing and the people genuinely kind - we’ve never had a better Aperol spritz ! We can’t wait to come back.

There is a reason why the ratings at Agata are so high - they deserve all of the praise! Our server Paul was fast and friendly, and even helped us with our French! He was a pleasure and we hope to see him again. The manager was also so kind and would check in with us just enough to make sure everything was perfect! The calamari was so good we will order it again and again, and this was true of everything we ordered,. The branzino carpaccio is a winner. And the pizza is soft, doughy, and delicious - in a league of its own. We can’t wait to come back!
Update: we just came back and it was every bit as delicious and wonderful as our first visit. Vincenzo took amazing care of us. Tres bon! His smile warms our hearts, and he made us feel...
