Visited this store this afternoon to buy a €1800 iPhone. Was happy to wait at one of tables whilst a salesperson freed up. It was very hot and i had a 5-month old puppy with me. Dogs are allowed. I placed a tiny slip-free lowrise bow with about 1/4 cm of water in it under one of the tables. Not surprisingly, and unable to resist any temptation, I confess I took a swig out of the bottle myself. A loitering secirityguard much to my bewilderment was eyeing up the bowl. Full flow, he jumped on me, very aggressive ' ce n'est pas un restaurant Monsieur', 'c'est illegal', walkie talkie crackling nervously. Had he been polite, shown a degree of elegance, I might have listened to him, but realising my apparent error of drinking during a heatwave, no sooner had I bent down to pick up the said bowl than one of the Apple sales assistants jumped on me (it was really hot), shouting, spitting unnecessarily. She said I could not drink water, nor could my dog. Security man in the meantime puffing his chest up, huffing and puffing in the not too far away background (think he needed water/bring back social distancing..). Alas no, at hereit is illegal to drink water. Even if you are about to part with €1800 for a phone or die of dehydration. And sod the dog, he is after all just a dog. To put a stop to the saleswoman's(quite tedious) ranting, I asked her what exactly she suggested I do. Take the bowl out she barked (no offence to the puppy). I did so (puppy in tow) and pathetic remains of water bowl tipped out onto Apple's doormat. All hell broke loose....security man on his walkie talkie again (not an Apple, he doesn't work for them), his sidekick exasperated, parched, so desperate is she for a glass of water that she will never ever be allowed. Water? Illegal - I mean - what were you thinking ?! Hélas, I was thrown out. It was like being chucked out of Studio 54 to the amusement of the stars. So off I trot in the sweltering heat, water bottle in hand all the way up to Apple Opera. The thirsty put dropped out but I felt like a real rebel without a cause I was so dehydrated. What a joy! Got my cheque book out, got (purple - yeah!) Iphone and chatted over a glass of water with the pleasant manager who confirmed the above was a parched thirsty load of pen-pushing nonsense. Minimalist customer service at best, aggressive, impolite behaviour. I won't say this is typical of the store as I am a good customer (apart from when I drink water during a heatwave). And at the end of the day, despite the evidently 'hazardous' dog bowl concealed beneath the table, Apple - aren't all your products water proof, at the very least water resistant?! At 1800 Euros a pop, one would somehow expect so. I may just pop in for a glass of water with the manager of this store to review their in store 'politique'.. Ok, nothing beats being lectured during a heatwave (my pup did not rate it either) but many of us are somewhat dependent, sadly on apple products. The very least one might expect is decent customer service (a the price) rather than being aggressed like criminals. A hot end to a hot...
Read moreI've needed to change my MacBook for a while now because mine is already 4 years old, and I've just started university (I'm an international student). A few weeks ago, I went to Apple, and they told me I could do a trade-in with my MacBook (I gave them my MacBook's serial number). My parents sent me money so I could buy the new MacBook, and I had the trade-in factored into my budget. Yesterday, I went to Apple again, and a young woman with short hair, tattoos, and a weird cap attended to me. I told her I wanted to order a MacBook online because I wanted the English keyboard, and I also wanted to do the trade-in (I am aware that the trade-in is done on the day they deliver your order). I showed them my MacBook, and they said okay, they helped me order my new MacBook FROM my old MacBook. She and her colleague saw that I'm a student because I did it through Unidayz. I want to emphasize that she helped me make the entire purchase from my old MacBook and she never had a friendly demeanor with me. The moment I made the payment, she told me that I couldn't do the trade-in with my MacBook, right at the exact moment I finished paying. Obviously, I got upset, and she said that my MacBook Air is over 6 years old. I told her that's not possible because I bought it in 2019 in Miami at an Apple store. She said it's not possible; she worked at the store during that time and they didn't sell that MacBook. I started to panic and called my mother; she began mocking me with her colleague in front of me and said that I'm trying to teach her profession (while I started to cry). Finally, I showed her that I bought it in May 2019, and she changed her tune, saying, 'Oh, maybe you did buy it that year, but the model is over 6 years old.' It was disrespectful how they treated me, and even though it is not possible to do the trade-in due to the model year, they lied to me, they were sneaky, and they even made fun of me. In the end, I left the store in tears with my mother on the phone, and they didn't care. Lastly, their customer service was very unprofessional because while I was ordering my MacBook, she was chatting with her colleague and telling her how she uninstalled Tinder because she was paying for a membership and she was matching with the same people...
Read moreI took off a morning from work to buy a Macbook Pro using a financing plan. A man who does not work for the Sales department (which I found out later) took on my order, although he had no idea what he was doing. I believe that he purely wanted the company of a young woman...thus completely wasting my time. I told him at least twice that I had a job to get back to, however he continued asking me personal questions (even about my visa status as a foreigner) which just stalled the entire purchasing process (not to mention, feeling uncomfortable). I kept saying that I "have to get back to work asap" (basically, 'this is not a pub, I'm here to buy a computer and get back to my job'). He looked like he was having a very good time, let's just say. In the end, the payment process was refused (which happens, no big deal), but what is really messed up is that he told me to come back the following day to do it again (as I had to get back to work). I came back the following morning, taking off yet ANOTHER morning from work, but this time was assisted by a competent Apple employee who actually works in the Sales department (another male, although he didn't seem as interested in taking me out on a date...much more professional). We went through the entire process again...but get this...it was all for nothing as, since my dossier was refused the previous day, I am banned from making an Apple purchase (with payment plan) for 3 months!! Yet, the 'happy' guy from the previous day, told me to come back in! Obvious incompetence... the thing that really bugs me, though, is that if I was a MAN, this would have never happened in the first place! Precious time and money lost. Don't expect to be treated with equal respect as a young woman in this Apple store. Just enjoy how pretty it is and check out the products (hmm, sounds eerily like how I was treated). Purchase...
