Au Piment du Centre — Restaurant in Paris

We came here on Saturday night when the restaurant was really busy. We were surprised that they can keep up with the orders since they had only three servers at that time. We ordered three dishes. And they came quite a while after each other in a weird order.

The vegetables first. After that the rice, then the beef and lastly the pork. So while we were waiting we kind of munched the dishes one by one. Not really a big deal but just not ideal.

The food was very good and flavorful, the portions were great. Especially the braised pork. It was huge. We ended up not finishing it.

The restaurant is located at the corner of a very busy street so it is also a good place to just have a drink and watch...

If I could give this place 0 stars for the service and welcome - I would. My 4 friends and I just walked in (2 of us French, 2 Spanish) and were seated down at a table by the hostess. After a minute of browsing through the menu, the male manager comes up to our table and asks us to leave. He tells us there are two women who want to sit down and have a fun menu. We tell him we want cocktails and side dishes. He orders us (super unfriendly) to leave the restaurant because essentially we will pay less than the 2 women ordering a full menu. Very unfriendly, money-driven, disrespectful, and ageist restaurant. Bref, go find a better restaurant for Chinese food...

The food was good BUUUT our waitress was so rude. She got annoyed when we told her that we wanted to make sure they cancelled our previous orders (since another waitress took our orders first and said that they didn't have noodles that night so we wanted to change. She said she would be back and let us chose other meals by cancelling the first two entrées we would have taken if we had noodles). We thought they already cancelled the meals but we're not sure so we asked and we got the most annoying reaction ever. Also, when we arrived no one acknowledged our presence, no "goodevening", " how many seats" etc so we kind of waited in the entrance...
