Auberge de Venise Bastille — Restaurant in Paris

I was excited to try this place, as it was close to our hotel. The man in the front was very welcoming, however when we sat down, we waited for a while to be served. I’m not exaggerating when I’m saying “waited a while”. We live in Spain and we are used to slow service. We were completely ignored. The lady servers looked over, but never talked to us. I had to get up to ask for the Parmesan cheese from the waitress with the glasses and she never brought it to us. When it was time to sign for the bill, she gave me a bad look and laughed at my signature and just walked away. She also never said Thank you. She was completely rude. Having impeccable service is important for a restaurant, and this place did not meet that. I do not recommend this place at all. I don’t usually write reviews, however I just finished dinner with my son less than an hour ago and felt the need to leave...

We ate here twice, since it was across the street from our hotel. The first time the food was okay and the service was adequate. The second time the pasta was obviously reheated from the day before, was stuck together and rubbery. There was almost no service. Once our food was delivered we never saw the waiter again, and there were no other customers in the restaurant at the time to distract them from serving us. We asked a woman who we finally saw for the check and she finally brought it to us, not asking if we wanted anything else, liked the food, just threw it on the table. I don't know how this restaurant can get so many stars. We are used to the nonchalant service at french restaurants but this was the worst...

This meal was only average. It was also extremely overpriced even by Paris standards for what we got. The minestrone soup and the mozzarella starters were absolutely fine. The pizza main was not enjoyable and seemed to have way too much cheese and just not a properly made pizza. The overloading of cheese made the base soggy also. The risotto seafood was a lovely main. The escalope main was tough and not edible. The desserts were grand but very dear for what we got. A glass of milk for a child was charged at €5 each. The meal was €170 for average food and didn’t represent good value. I would have happily paid that price for better food but...
