Aux Mandarins de Belleville 食全食美 — Restaurant in Paris

We had stir fried potato straws, dry fried green beans, medium size stir fried rice cakes with beef. Probably could’ve fed 3 regular people - we took our time in eating through it as 2 people but we were stuffed by the end!

I saw another review where it described this place as « grandma » and I would agree 100%! It’s the pleasant kind of no frills, good value and authentic options you seek for a great any day option. Don’t come expecting hidden 1 star Michelin cheap eats that you might find in Asia itself. But their prices are very reasonable and our experience of the service was great (communicating with waiters in 3 languages). They guided us well in the portion sizes for 2 persons appropriately.

The clients changed during the period of lunch from Chinese-speaking ordering shared stews to western couples, groups of friends and families with children. No two tables ordered the same mix of dishes! It’s not a big place (inside) and has a covered outdoor area. Didn’t feel it was part of the tourist trail as it’s off the main drag.

Overall a great lunch, would go again when in the area at lunch. While there are other restaurants that do some specific dishes better this is a repeatable...

I came here twice because a senior friend liked it here. Personally, I would never eat here for a second time.

The service is extremely frustrating. You can even say it’s painful. The staff does a very good job at not looking at customers. It’s almost impossible to get their attention. The short-haired lady, no eyeglasses, who took our order was impatient and rude. She behaved badly toward my senior friend who liked this restaurant and brought us here.

However, the food is great I can assure you. Whatever you order, it will taste nice and the price is affordable. Even a nice bottle of Bordeaux wine here is cheaper than other restaurants.

It’s a shame that the poor service spoils...

I came alone and ordered two dishes and one small side dish. Since there were but much customers, I waited for about 25 minutes to receive the food and eat it. After less than 15 minutes, server asked me to move to a different seat because I was alone. I politely asked server to wait because I would finish eating soon. But when I put down my spoon and take a small breath they came over and tried to remove my plate. I understand that they want to accommodate big groups than me but you can see I received the food bit late, I had to eat it so quickly that I couldn't even drink water never. This is the worst service ever sorry you shouldn't...
